I liked German metal when I was fifteen. Nowadays I have a geeky love for Corvus Corax/Tanzwut, In Extremo, and pretty much anything else that involves dead languages, medieval poetry, and instruments that most people would never dream of pairing with an electric guitar. I also like foreign translations of musicals, and some European musicals. I have yet to find a German show that I like (Glöckner doesn't count), but the French have some fun stuff. In fact, Don Juan just popped up on my playlist, haha. |

I love German pop music! Especially Herbert Gruenemeyer. "Ooohhh, es ist ok! Alles auf dem Weg! Und es ist Sonnenzeit, unbeswchert und frei! Und der Mensch heisst Mensch!" Yeah, Download the song 'Mensch' (People). | ||

Let's see... M: is ~121 Gigs of music. 50 gigs of that is Japanese -- Musicals, Anime, Anime Musicals, Pop songs, Taiko, a few Taisho era songs, some Enka, Rie Fu (Japanese-American Folk), Rin' (Japanese traditional/modern fusion), SOUL'D OUT (Japanese Hip-Hop), etc... I need more Taiko and more Okinawan music.
Ethnic music. Let's see... Got a modern re-working of Hildegard Von Bingen, there's the Icelanic Folk muisic--but that's instrumental, the Occitan Rap/Regge music. New-age/Celtic. (Loreena, Moya, Enya, Clannad, etc..) Great-Grand Papaw was from an Arbëreshë (Albanian) village in Sicily. So, I bought some Silvana Licursi's Albanesi songs. The rest of the drive is mostly classical and musicals. Let's see non-Englsh: "Snow Wolf Lake" (the famous Jacky Cheung musical) in Mandarin and a few songs in Cantonese. I have almost every CD that Gekidan Shiki has put out. I've also got some Takarazuka and some Toho. Almost every version of Presgurvic's Romeo and Juliette. "Maria Evangelium" -- a Hungarian musical about the Gnostic Gospel accoring to Mary Magdalene. Some more french stuff -- Catherine Lara's Medieval Musical Graal. (La vrai vie, C'est celle qu'on choisie!) Presgurvic's "Autante en Emporte le Vent", Kristina från Duvemåla, Mamma Mia in Swedish (Don't even have the English version of that.) , Mozart!, a few Gekidan Shinkansen (Heavy metal rock) musical scores... |
