For Sale: Coricopat Final London Wig

Not being sold by me, but thought a few fans here would be interested. It's starting bid is very low, but let's face it - this wig deserves a much higher price, so please (if you can), bid for this gem!

And here I thought the whole point of buying on eBay was to try and get a bargain price... Maybe I'm wrong. But wouldn't the smart thing be to wait until the end and -then- bid your highest? Otherwise all you do is drive the price higher and higher until nobody but those in high-flying jobs, with large amounts of savings, or with huge credit card limits can afford it...

How many of you can afford to spend a hundred pounds on memorabilia in one hit? How many can afford two hundred in one hit? Three?

Hands down, kids. I think the rhetorical questions speaks for itself.

Since when is 100 pounds low anyway? (I think that's something like $250-300)

Well, this wig does have more provenance than most, as you're buying it from the man who wore it in the final show... that's irreplacable history, and I'm really sorry he's having to sell it. I do think he might have better luck getting a good price for it if he marketed it as unique theatre memorabilia rather than as a costume piece?

An authentic yak-hair wig costs £1000s new, the work that goes into them is incredible!

At the moment, Ebay reckons the £100 starting bid is approx. $162 US dollars, $204 Australian dollars.

All the same, you can't possibly tell me you wouldn't love to get your hands on it for a bargain basement price. History or no, as a buyer it doesn't make sense to drive the price up solely with the intention of giving the seller as much money as possible.

But then again, I come from a very thrifty background and my own finances (*cough*unemployment*cough) force me to budget and juggle for every single new cost that comes up. So perhaps my financial advice isn't the kind you'd feel comfortable taking.

It's tough, because on one hand, sure, I'd want to get the piece for a bargain price - of course! I might be able to afford it that way!

But on the other hand, the seller is a brilliant performer who is, I suspect, selling it because he has to not because he wants to, and that he has to part with the wig at all is sad. And if he has to sell it then he should get a good price for it, because it's so precious with his provenance.

Personally I'm not interested because I'm lucky enough to already have a london Cori wig!
