Footloose Audition Help ASAPi know there a lot of posts about this but the audition is in like 4 days at my high school so i really need help
I need a monlogue. they just decided we need one, I really really want to be rusty so I am sure a comedy would be good but I cant find anything
also I still dont have a song (dont worry I learn this stuff fast) I am 14 years old (sophmore), a little on the heavy side if that makes any difference, and have a range from low e (below middle C) to high E (on a good day) above the staff, but audition wise probably a high C would be the highest note that I would want to try. I belt up to a D or E pretty strongly. I am used to doing pretty ballads so I want to changeit up a little!!! thanks
let me throw this in here. I have never been proffesionally trained to belt so I may not be doing it right, but I know its not ruining my voice so dont worry about that. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!

You don't know whether or not you are belting healthfully or hurting your voice because your vocal cords don't have any nerve endings in them. If they did, it would be painful as heck to speak because they vibrate by hitting together very fast...
I sang on a vocal cord polyp for over a year without knowing it. It wasn't until I started consistently losing range, etc. that I realized something was horribly wrong.
The only people who can determine conclusively whether or not you are using your voice properly are voice therapists and ENT's. A good voice teacher can also be thrown into that mix, but that's always a gamble.
I just wanted to help you to understand that, dear...
As for monologues, there may be some good ones for your age range if you google and use free monologues as your search. I forget the exact site that would help, but it should pop up pretty quickly. Also, take a look at compilation books, if you can!
Hope that helped!
