Hey, I believe you... I've definitely felt that way before. My junior high drama/choir teacher told me I had a horrible voice, sang too loud and obnoxiously, and that no one would ever give me solos or parts.
...I would have loved to see her face when she saw me last year as one of the only two sophomores that played a principle part, while all of her pets were in the chorus. Apparently, singing loud is called "belting" and some people (like my HS director) like it! Hehe.
I was also one of only three junior girls accepted into our school's chamber singing group. I guess my singing doesn't always have to be obnoxious (although really, I prefer when it is!) Lol.
So I feel for ya. Naturally, because this all happened ages ago it's really no big deal to me anymore. But someday you'll amaze your idiot directors when you get the big roles you deserve!
Ps. "Die Die Birdie"? Sounds pretty hilarious.

People like you bother me. You're a fricking sophomore. Suck it up.

Our Albert was a sophomore too.
And like I said, no one here knows the whole situation, and it would be impossible for me to explain it all, so you either have to believe me or you don't...it really makes no difference to me. So, I really can't hold anything against you for your comment because you don't know me at all...

Am I one of those people who bothers you? If so--I was half-joking when I was talking about my teacher.
I mean, I can relate to BroadwayBud, but do you really think it matters to me what some silly teacher said to me in junior high? I'm a junior now, and that was the first time I've thought about that teacher in years. And though I was disappointed to be in the chorus of our show this year, I'm not claiming to be all that surprised about it. Our director knows what she's doing.
Then again, if that wasn't directed towards me--good! Lol. That's what I love about the internet... No inflections, no tone = you can't tell who/what anyone is talking about!
