I finally finished the tallying. As usual, I gave those with the most counts per character that character. If they won more than one role, they only got the one that had more votes and understudied the other. If there was a tie for a role, all those who tied won the role (unless they already have another role). Each person can have only one main role and two understudy roles (or if no main role, three understudy roles). I only assigned two understudy roles per character, which meant some people didn't get the understudy roles even though they may have had the same counts as others who got the role. Sometimes I just had to role a die to figure out which person got the understudy role. Also, in cases of ties for understudies, I tried to give priority to those who didn't have a role yet, or an understudy role. I also removed the "Lead Swing" roles as I felt we didn't have enough swings to warrent them.

Please keep the size of your banners down. If they are too large, it not only slows down the loading of the forum page, but it also annoys many people who have to scroll past a lot of banners just to read what someone wrote. We respectully request that the banners be no taller than 125 pixels tall and 400 pixels long.

And with that, I'm announcing my retirement as official tally-master for the cast lists...though I'll still help in the organization of it. Please let me know if you are intersted in taking over the role of tally-master for the cast listings.

Also, due to the fact that there weren't very many lists and the final numbers were so small, I want to shorten the list. I know some people want extra roles to fill in, but I think it would be better to keep the list shorter. I suggest (as has been suggested by others in the past) we take out Ghengis, and maybe Rumpus Cat and/or Bustopher Jones.

Another thought....In the tallying, if a character has more blank spots than people voted for (as what happened with this case... Bustopher had 6 'blanks', but no actual person with more votes than that), then that character is left out of the list for that session.

I think that taking out some of the characters would be a good idea, epecially those who are lesser known and don't have many definitive character traits (i.e ghengis/rumpus cat) as I know that I found it difficult to fill those roles.

I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who voted for me, and I'm very happy to be cast alongside abbeycat as Demeter (squee!) and Etcy understudy. Also, a biiig thank you to MsJellicle for tallying and organising the whole thing, it's really appreciated.

I agree with removing a few characters--especially Ghenghis, who has no defined personality--but rather than take out Bustopher or Rumpus Cat, I recommend we remove a few of the extraneous male filler-roles, like George, Victor, Bill Bailey, and Admetus. Not all of them, but some of them. After all, you never know when a member might join who scares the trolls back in line, or wears white spats, but the male-fillers seem to be so similar that it's hard to consider any of them separate from each other. And if you cut out, say, George, Victor and Ghengis, you'd have half as many roles as you would member names submitted. The bigger cast list made sense when the forum was more popular, but it's quieter now and I don't think we'll get an explosion of members any time soon.

Thanks to all who voted for me as Griddlebone - as most know this is my first ever casting on any forum, so believe me I am more than honoured right now! I, too, feel really guilty for not getting my cast list in on time! I would have but I went down to Wales and then England for a few days and had major troubles with transport (plane) as there had been bomb scares so we ended up staying longer and I didn't get back in time to completely finish it and submit - sorry to all!!!

Another suggestion re: lists: The submission time could also be shortened from two weeks to a week or 10 days, as it seemed there was a huge push to get them in the first week and then the submissions suddenly stopped. It was kind of odd as usually they kind of do a steady trickle. This time they didn't.

Oh my gosh....I can't believe I couldn't get my list done in time. I'm actually crying right now because I feel like I've let people down and I'm afraid I will be thought poorly of. I've been having problems with my cats and have been so sick--yesterday I was in NY to see Les Mis (our big summer vacation), and when I got back to my relative's house in Philly, I went right to a strange ER because I had a severe migraine and could barely see. I sincerely apologize to everyone. My list is half done, so I will keep it until January so those votes will count at that casting.

That said....I cannot believe I'm finally Jemima. What an unbelievable privilege. Thank you so, so much to everyone one who voted for me (in any role). I am also delighted and honored to understudy Demeter. My morning just got a lot brighter!

I forgot to mention that there were a few lists that had double cast people. In those cases, I counted the first time they were placed and ignored (counted as a blank) any other places.

As for shortening the lists, It seems almost unanimous to delete Ghengis. And there seems to be a vote for some of the other lesser known characters to be deleted from the list such as George, Victor, and Admetus. What about Sillabub/Jemima? Do we want to merge those two? Many people see them as the same character. For that matter, many people see Pouncival/Carbucketty as the same character.

In my opinion, Jemima/Sillabub should me merged. Personally I'd like to keep Admetus--I don't ever have trouble filling him. And yes, Pounce/Carb are similar, but I see Carbucketty as more of a serious kitten and Pounce as a really silly one. Isn't it interesting that we all see them slightly differently?

Hmmm... I can see maybe letting go Admetus and either Carbucketty or Pouncival, but I think I would seriously cry if Victor or George got deleted. I've been known to go on huge rants on how two such adorable and deserving characters are being so rudely treated by being cut out of every major site's character descriptions (or worse, sentence-long descriptions, often inaccurate). They're just so unique and lovable and it's so wrong that they're being slowly cut out of the fandom. I'd hate to see that happen here too!

It is going to be very difficult to decide which characters should we dismiss from the list because almost every version has their very own characters...

It may seem a bit... not natural... but seen that tere are disagreements... why don't we stick to the video characters that almos everyone knows?
And probably we could add the main characters from Growltiger's last stand: Growltiger and Griddlebone.

For me Jemima and Sillabub are the same but I've been able to make a bit difference thanks to the descriptions. I wouldn't take out Admetus... at least in the video he's got a personality of his own, as well as video Plato. I know that these two characters have been invented somehow because they were changed from the other productions.

I personally don't know Victor... probably the only one. And please don't eliminate Rumpus Cat or Bustopher Johnes because the have their own personalities.

Regarding the Forum Casting... I LUV YA ALL!!!!!! THANKS FOR VOTING ME AS RUMPLETEAZER I LUVA YA I LUV YAAAAA!!!!
