Favorite Spamalot Character?Who's your favorite Spamalot character? Mine would probably have to be the Lady of the Lake. (This was a hard choice for me. There are too many good ones!)

Good old Lance for me too. For several reasons...

Sir Robin. David hyde pierce is a total riot in the role and 'You Wont Succeed on Broadway" is one of the funniest numbers ive ever heard.

I think I'm going to agree with you about "You Won't Succeed On Broadway." However, outside of that song, I find Robin really drab.
I'm going with Lance because I like thinking about taking his actions and his songs and putting the faces of jocks in my school on his body.

really? did you see Hyde Pierce?? he ate up he stage. he was wonderful.
I thought Hnak Azaria was bland as Lance. and Bedevere wasnt given anything to do.

Sorry, should have said I'm going by the music/illegal Youtube clips alone (which is always a mistake). I haven't seen it yet. But in terms of the music, I feel that the character is "just there" in most of the songs. From what I've heard, Hyde Peirce did the best to fix it but the character is just rather bland.
Plus, I may just be biased because I have a dress-up Lancelot paper doll courtesy of the souvenierre program.
Salome, this is about the characters as the're written, not the actors. You may disagree, but if you give a great actor a poor character, the character will still be poor. He'll just be a poor character played by a great actor.
Although, I do like the character of Robin. I just think Lancelot is more amusing. Robin is nessecary for the plot (what plot? LOL) Lancelot makes me smile.

I voted for Sir Robin simply because of You Won't Succeed On Broadway - one of my top three songs from the show. Also, David Hyde Pierce starred in my favourite Cheers spin-off.

I am going with prince herbert, and only because of the other characters associated with him. He brings life to some dull scenes.

It had to be Lancelot. The way the London understudy Craige Els played him was fantastic.

Robin has alot more funny moments than Lancelot. hands down I found Lancelot the most underwritten of the knights next to Bedevere.

Sir Robin without a doubt!

lady of the lake by far!

I like the Lady of the Lake the best. She is a great comic character.

Dennis Galahad

Gaah, you're making me choose?! Hrm...while I do like Galahad (-looks at name-) a lot, it's a tie between Herbert and Bedevere. Herbert because he's so adorable, with his random bursts of music and Bedevere because even though he's so poorly underwritten and neglected, I just have a soft spot for him.

Sir Robin, hands down. "You Won't Succeed on Broadway" is absolutely brilliant, and his character has some great bits.

Lancelot and Herbert, because I love the trend of random big gay musical numbers, and they're just funny. Then Sir Robin, Sir (Dennis) Galahad and the Lady of the Lake.
Hey, I think I'm the first one to acknowledge Dennis as a favorite.

This was SUCH a hard decision- I couldn't choose between The Lady of the Lake and Prince Herbert. I ended up choosing the Lady.
