I'm curious as to what everyone's favorite Lion King song is that came from any soundtrack... Mine is Elton John's "Can You Feel The Love Tonight." When I first heard the song on the radio, I was impressed that this song was used for the Lion King soundtrack. THis song was a major hit when it came out, and I had only seen the first disney movie of it. I wonder what others think of this song..

They Live In You - awareness of our place in the scheme of things and a reminder of our relationship with those who have gone before us - a beautiful thing to keep alive

Shadowlands - the pain and fear of exile and the understanding of how place and a sense of belonging informs our sense of identity

The instrumental piece accompanying the wildebeest stampede also affected me dramatically when I saw the show. The power of the music alone, let alone the amazing effects on stage, made me hold my breath.

It's interesting - even though I love the fun songs like Hakuna Matata and I Just Can't Wait To Be King, it's the more spiritual and meaningful songs that have stayed with me.
