Favorite Grey Gardens song

I had been wanting the OBC for quite a while, and yesterday I finally bought it and I absolutely love it! I know that a lot of you like the OBC as well, so I thought I'd start a topic about what your favorite songs were. I actually have two favorites: "Jerry Likes My Corn" and "Hominy Grits". How about the rest of you?

Being BOuvier is wonderful..i wish it was in the broadway version. i also ador "Arriving on the 5:15" its so Cole Porter-ish.

Act II i love "entering Grey Gardens" and "revolutionary Costume".

My favorite song is "Around the World" and Ebersole does it so, so well. I also really like "Entering Grey Gardens"... mostly for the harmonies.

I actually only have the OOBC because i got it a long time ago but my favorite songs are:
5:15
Around the World
Revolutionary costume
Body Beautiful Beale
and Peas in a pod
ClaraNaccarelli

The only song in Grey Gardens I don't like is Drift Away. I also don't like any of the songs from the Off-Broadway production that didn't make it onto Broadway.

I really HATE Grey Gardens but since my uncle LOVES it and plays it all the time, I kind of like "Revolutionary costume"

The Cake I Had

I like The Cake I Had because it's a song about really living life (as in having your cake and eating it too). Kind of along the lines of Life is a Cabaret.

"What good is cake you have but never eat?" is a great line.

I also like "You're in this world, you know! You're not out of the world!"
I find there that this is a common theme among musicals--encouraging us to really live live to the fullest.

That's ONE of the many reasons I like musicals!

if you hate Grey Gardens you know shit about theatre. you probaly like f*cking crap like Wicked and Spring Awakening.

I'm not too fond "Revolutionary Costume", but I love "Around the World"... Ebersole is brilliant... I get chills listening to that song

"Mother Darling" is adorable... and so was "Better Fall Out of Love" from the Off-Bway recording.

How exactly does not liking a musical mean you dont know anything about theatre ? , its a matter of taste and opinion.
Salome

Salome...I love you and know how you feel about it...but please do not put Spring Awakening on the same level as Wicked. You KNOW it's not on that level. Come on.
Salome

Spring Awkwening is not quite on the level of Wicked...but its pretty low. I'd say maybe the level of Phantom of the Opera or Cats

but ot its credit "Wicked" at least had Joel Grey and Carol Shelly to elevate it.

On the subject of Grey Gardens, does anyone else think that John McMartin should've at least been nominated for, like, Best Featured Actor for GG? Granted, his two songs are among the worst in the show, but still I think he played his parts very well.
Salome

his songs are two of the shows best. are you kidding??

and yes he should have been nominated.instead of that idiot from spring awakening.
