Favourite Forbidden Broadway song of all timeWithout a doubt, my favourite is "Liza One Note". It never ceases to make me laugh. And I must make it clear that I adore Liza. I think she's fabulous.Close runners-up for me include "An Old Fashioned Ballad", as well as "I Couldn't Hit the Note". Later days David |

I saw it recently, and I really enjoyed the Jersey Boys take-off "Scary" (especially when one of the performers broke out laughing due to a jacket switching), and of course the return of the Les Mis parody.

Ten Years More. I also liked "You Gotta Get a Puppet" in the SVU one. A Choruc Cat is also really funny. I haven't heard Liza One Note though! The Liza parodies aways amuse me the most. "The Boy Who's Odd" and "Bye Bye Mein Film Career" are another couple of gems.

This ain't Boheme, Phantom of the Musical, and Chita-Rita are currently my favorites.

Mine HAS to be the one that Danny Gurwin sings to the tune of the music man song.
P.S. One of my FAVORITE musical theatre teachers at my school so far has been the director for like 14 years or something. He's incredible. |

I love Forbidden Broadway!
I have a question though. There is one song that I can't remember the name of and havnt heard in so long and it has something to do with a dog upstaging the actress (I assume its a Wizard of Oz parody). Does ANYONE know what I'm talking about?? |

Has anybody seen it recently with the added songs?
I saw it in February and they added a Jersey Boys song ("Scary" and "Walk Like A Man, Sing Like a Girl") and they did Spamalot, basically singing "The Song That Goes Like This" and noting that Eric Idle must have ripped them off. |

Seconded. Does anyone know of a site where I can find lyrics to these songs? (I don't care if they're bootleg.) By the way, can someone clear up a little mystery for me? Why is it that the version of "Liza One-Note" on the symphonic highlights video on www.forbiddenbroadway.com uses the real "Johnny One-Note" tune, but the version on the CD uses a modified, rough "sound-alike" tune, recognizable as being based on the Richard Rodgers tune but distinctly different from it? Some kind of copyright issue? If Forbidden Broadway had the rights to use the tune in the live show (not to mention the rights to use all the other showtunes that they simply copy verbatim, both live AND on the recording), why couldn't they use that song on the disc as well? |
