Favorite Cats picture?

I'm curious to see what everyone picks.

Post your favorite Cats picture and explain why, please. Smile

I love this picture simply because of Etcetera's face. It's incredibly adorable.
Moongewl

This is a fun idea. I strongly approve.

A fairly well-known shot of a German Demeter. The things this picture suggests are just so great when combined with what I think about the character. The expression says she's intelligent, quiet, and focused. The light adds an intensity to the image--she almost looks like she's radiating the light instead of reflecting it. The wig and makeup style make her look physically young but mentally mature, and the "spiky" look makes me think of her as jumpy and defensive. And the pose itself is just wonderful: she's obviously completely still, but it looks like she's just stopped moving and she can't decide whether to reach out and touch you or spring away from you.

Wow it's hard to pick but I have two that I really think are cool. I think they are both Demeter and they are from the MOSCOW 2005-2006 company. I love these because of the expression on their faces.

But again I have so many more I like!

This is one of my favorite images because it shows good detail in all the characters faces and I love the japanese style of make up and costuming and everything is just so bright and colorful.

It's cool that you can tell that it's a Japanese company, but they're still recognizable. I like people that take a new spin on makeup and costuming.

Griddlebone throwing the first pitch at a Japanese baseball game. 'Nuff said.

But seriously, I love this pic. I love Griddlebone too. (ESP. Japanese Griddlebone)

That made my day. Applause

Just saying.

This is an ad for the show, but I can't remember where its from.

I think it was a really good idea.
Jelliclaw

I don't have an exact favorite, but here's one I really enjoy. If it's too big I'll link to it instead:

I love the makeup design and use of glitter. Gorgeous lighting.

It is from the Swedish production in Göteborg that was running between 9. September 2006 and 24. February 2007. It was quite "weird" production with fantastic music but really strange design Rolling Eyes

Strange design? Do you have any pictures of the show? I looked on catsmusical.com but I couldn't find them.

The most important change was that it wasn't on junkyard but in the amusement park. You can have a look at Göteborg's opera page. Scroll down and click the link under the pictures (Klicka här »). Javascript window will popup with more pictures from the show.
I also wrote a review once, but the links contained in it are already dead as the file hosting was deleted. Sorry.

These looks familiar. I guess I've seen them before. They are very strange though. I find Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer's costumes very amusing.
Moongewl

Carbucketty's albums call it "Gothenburg" but I believe it's the same set and cast.
Mungojerrie_rt

I've got too many to choose from, but some are:

Australian Rumpus Cat. I love the mask.

1989 Aust tour Tugger, Bomba. I think the Australian costumes capture the show the best.

Ignatians Musical Society production Jemima. This cast was fantastic!

Berlin Munkus, Jenny. I just love the look of the thing.

From the Dutch Tour. Such a great pic.
Bustephen

It's been years since I last saw my favourite Cats picture. It was sent to me by a friend way back when I first became involved with Cats fans on the internet... seven years ago, I guess.

It was a black and white drawing of Bustopher Jones, perhaps an early costume study or just a very good piece of fanart. He's quite stylized and rounded, and perhaps the most distinctive part of the sketch is the newspaper he's carrying under one arm. Does this ring any bells?
Moongewl

Would the picture in question be this concept sketch?
Bustephen

It would. Thank you so very much.
Balurina

Let's see if I can come up with a few more favorites of mine...

I'll just do a couple. These are from Moscow and I just like the composition of these pictures. Looking at the show from a different perspective.

Mungojerrie_rt

Those would make such good backgrounds.
Lady Jemima

Jelliclaw, that too is my favorite pic. Very Happy

Balurina, *love* that last one with Mungo!

Second to the Vikki pic, some of my favs:

Man, I love this one!

Mungojerrie_rt

You must tell me what year the second one is please! It's either Australia or the World Tour. If you've got the year it will tell me where it is from.
Reeza

Here are some more that I like:

Paris

Dutch 1987- Rumpleteazer looks so cute here

Russia- My current avatar. I like Jemima's expression and that she's with the little girl.

London-My fave character! Anyone know what actor this is?
Mungojerrie_rt

I think it's David Ashley.
Reeza

Yeah, I think you are right. I remember him now. I remember him being very popular when I was on the board a few years ago. At the time my fave character was Mistoffelees so I guess I forgot.
Eponine_Thénardier_08

I have some more and I might post another 2 or 3 later but for now look at these pretty pictures. (I own nothing and I credit http://freewebs.com/jellicleworld/ for the pics.)

Toronto production--- I just love how good you can see the makeup.

UK TOUR 2003 --- I love his pose.

World Tour in Korea --- I think the angle this was shot from is just amazing and I love the colors in this.

MOSCOW 2005-2006---I don't know why I love this one so much but I do.
Reeza

Does anyone have a good picture of Rumpleteazer from Broadway or US Tour? I need it for some costuming ideas.
Mungojerrie_rt

From Broaadway:

Broadway Calendar:

From Trokita Tour:

Contains a decent rear view:
Reeza

Those are all great. Thanks!
Spanish_Rumple

Can't seem to find my pictures. I specially liked a couple of pictures where there were Bomba and Deme wearing sunglasses and looking sexy. They weren't from the show, I guess they were adverts.
Mungojerrie_rt

You mean these? Cool

I love it. Smile

wicked_boy

I love the DVD cover.

It brings together the whole theme of "ensemble", being as not one cat is the "lead".
Mungojerrie_rt

Yet for some reason they didn't use the film cast for the cover.

Really? Which cast did they use then?

*Forgive me, I'm uneducated in the Cats department.*
Dramatical-Cat

I believe that they used cast of Cats who were performing in London at that time. The only person who actually appears in the film is Veerle Casteleyn (sp?) who performed as Jemima in the film and the stage show.

Hope this helps Very Happy
Mungojerrie_rt

London 1998, so time of release, rather than time of filming.

Alonzo ~ Patrick Kiens
Electra ~ Agnes Vandrepote
Jemima ~ Veerle Casteleyn
Mungojerrie ~ Nick Searle
Munkustrap ~ Jean-Luc Rebaldi
Rumpleteazer ~ Sascha Kane
Skimbleshanks ~ Nigel Garton
Victoria ~ Sarah Soetaert
