Fareinheit 451 & Noises Off!

so, just found out my school is doing "Farenheit 451" and "Noises Off!" this year.

They're not musicals, but has anyone been in productions of either of these?

"Noises Off" is easily one of the finest and funniestv plays ever written.
check out the film verasion starring Micheal Caine,Carol Burnett,Denholm Elliott,John Ritter,Nicolette Sheridan, and Christopher Reeve.

I wasnt aware there was a stage version of 'F-451

my school is doing Fahrenheit 451 this summer. Apparently it is different of the book because Guy finds Clarriss at the end and Beatty admits the truth to Guy. Sorry if that isn't very helpful

Noises Off is awesome!!!!
I was Dotty/Mrs. Clackett - twice.
Also I designed the set for our production

I played Frederick once. It is my favorite play and it is so much fun to performing in.

I wonder, is it similar to the movie script? Because that's how the film ended the story.

Either way, it would be an interesting play. I've always wanted to find a way to play Book!Clarisse. She's one of my favorite female book characters ever.

I just got the script for Fareinheit but I haven't read it yet. I'm planning on reading the book ASAP too so I dunno the differences yet.

But I already love Clarisse's chracter but at the same time I like Mildred's too for different reasons. So I'm not sure which one I would want to play more...

Okay, so...I'm Mildred! haha. I'm already loving it and we just had our first rehersal yesterday. She's so...weird! Smile

& the funniest thing is my best friend is playing Guy Montag & this was the first time he ever auditioned for a show in his life!

Ugh. That's the way adaptions always end it. And it totally ruins the novel!

But, Bradbury has freely admitted in interviews that even though he adpated it, he doesn't like the way it turned out.

I did F-451 a few years ago (I was the old lady who was burned with her books...I can't remember her name now!), but my director got special permisson from Bradbury himself to change the script a lot and add a bunch of stuff. It ended up pretty crazy. We ended up having almost a Greek chorus type thing on stage the whole time and they were the voice of the machines and the narrators. We cut out the Mechanocal Hound too. And our set was a big set of scaffolding that you could climb on and there was a fireman's pole and a table and chairs...that's about it.

I may be wrong here, but from what I gathered after reading Bradbury's afterword in the 50th Anniversery Edition of the novel, he didn't like the way the book turned and wished he could go back and make the book more like the play (adding in the return of Clarisse and the Library scene with Beatty).
