Great! I've been meaning to say for a while that I really enjoy your writing Rumble, especially the Jellicle Chronicles. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of TNJ as it develops.
xx Claire
P.s Are the Heathrow Heap pages going to be readable any time soon? I noticed that they've been down for a while.

HeathrowI wish I could say that Heathrow will be up and running soon... However, the series is out of my hands, even though I am the "Chronicler" and one of three authors. RIO is our Chief Editor, and she operates the main plotline, so all rests with her.
I can say that she is currently in 5.08, and rewriting the chapter. Time to completion? Your guess is as good as mine. She is also into about 70 other fandoms as well...
As to the website? She is trying to find a server at the moment. Twospotz is in a moving stage, and her server/computer is down at this time. I offered to host it with TJC and TNJ but she declined for now...
Thanks for complimenting both TJC and Heathrow. We both appreciate it.

If you're looking for the Heathrow Heap, the first six chapters seem to have invaded fanfiction.net's Cats section.
Rumblepurr, is it too rude to ask where you get your ideas from? ("You" in general, that is. Since I dont know where the other authors lurk I can't exactly ask you all separately.) I've always been curious as to how the 'world' sort of built itself and how you decided which characters it would revolve around. That and it's always interesting to hear how other writers operate...

Heathrow and the WorldRio/Fyrie indicated that she would probably use FFdN as a Pseudo-Server until Ahdeya got her computer back up after a heavy move. Glad to see it is starting to appear.
How do I get my ideas for fanfiction stories? A goodly percentage of my series stories built on what happened previously. However, I think you want an answer that applies to the stories in general...
When I look at my fanfiction, I seem to enjoy writing in a "series" Mode - namely, one story follows another, building on what has already happened and how it affects future stories. This allows me sometimes to create "mini-series" - the first 5 chapters of Year 2 were really know as the "Quaxo" Series because I expanded on the character that had been initially planned as a "Strong and Silent" Guardian.
On the individual stories, the ideas come from all sorts of different sources. One such source is the "Light Bulb Idea" - you are just thinking and something just pops into your mind. Another is the "Issues Idea" - you want to put something across, and you use the Tribe as the means to explain it. "Character Examination" sometimes provides ideas for stories. Take one character and explain something about them... Many times, Ahdeya, Rio and I would bat ideas around about what could take place in a story, and it creates itself...
My writing style has been derived by one of many "How To" books on writing: "Write the beginning of the story, and the ending you want the story to resolve around. Everything else is filler..." Often times, the first thing I want is a title. "My Favorite Things" for example (Year 1 Chapter 1). Each character has a certain item that is missing. That is the beginning. The ending is almost obvious - everyone gets those things back. After those two points are established, I have to come up with who is missing what, who are the possible thieves or thief, and how do we get the items back. This is the main plotline now. At this point, I map out who I want to be the "main characters" in the story. Naturally, the "cast" members are usually the mains in my CATS fanfiction. That is primarily how I write a story.
In most fiction stories, you will notice that you may have a main plotline, and then several mini-plots, or one/two/three or more subplots. With the Tribe, you also get to see some activity outside the plotline because of the amount of territory involved. These are the "filler" stories that go along with the main.
Sorry about this being long, but the process is not an easy one to explain. Some stories do require a lot of heavy planning while others just write themselves. The difference is how inspired one is when sitting at a keyboard... Ask an artist how they do a painting... An author is an artist who paints with words...
