Please post here when you have any fan works you'd like to show off.
Fan works include CATS dolls, art, fanfics, costuming, face painting, parodies, and/or any other creative works that has to do with CATS.

Be aware, however, that others may criticize whatever you publish on the web. Constructive analysis will be accepted, but personal attacks will not and will be edited/deleted. For example: just saying, "That drawing is stupid" is not constructive and serves no purpose. It will be deleted. However, saying, "This < point > needs something because it < point >. I would recommend that you do try < this > or < this >... " is better.

Please do not post lewd and/or obscene material.

If the picture is a very large file, it would be better if you posted the link to the picture instead of directly showing the image. That would be of help for those who use a slower, dial-up server.

Also, please try not to post a full fanfic here. Instead, post a link to the fanfic. Please give a warning if there is any more mature subject matter within the fic or if there are any graphic scenes. There are younger people on this forum, and we don't want them going to something they may not be ready or wanting to read/see (or that their parents may not approve of).

If anyone else thinks of any other guidelines for this thread, please post it here or pm me and it will be considered. Smile

The Jellicle Chronicles was completed back in October 2004, but readers are always welcome to view it... Most of the stories on the website are rated PG-13, but some skirt the R Rating. The ones that do are well marked. If you want the complete series, this is the recommended tour:

1. THE ANCIENTS (Books 1, 2 & 3)
This is the "beginning" of the Jellicle Story - After being sent from their homeworld, the Yeahlika (Jellicle) people settle in ancient Egypt during the reign of Pharaoh Seti the First and Ramses II. '

2. THE JELLICLE CHRONICLES (Years 1 to 15)
The fanfiction started by the show - begins three months after the Jellicle Ball, and chronicles the life and events of the Junkyard Tribe until the Return of the Jellicles to their homeworld.

3. THE PREQUELS (20th Anniversary Tour)
The human cast of the fictional 20th Anniversary Tour, and their trials and tribulations from the open rehearsals to the final show in Miami...

4. THE JELLICLE TRIBES (By Ahdeya or TWOSPOTZ)
The Jellicle people are returned to the Homeworld and the new "Yeahlika" face a brave new world ...

My fanfiction site also carries some "Lost Stories" and some other works. Artwork and Illustrations accompany the stories... by Michaela Olofsson and Anna-Karin Larsson.

Don't have any really new stuff, but I was looking at some older sketches and am amazed what a couple years did for me. For example, Grizabella pencil sketch from 2001 (done during math class, as I remember)...

Lil_Conjuer, I really like what I see with what you've posted of your work. There's a definite style that carries through in the last 3 pictures, which isalways interesting to see in a themed set, and despite the relatively simple lines, the fact that you've lined and more or less fully coloured each image gives them such a nice, finished presentation. Bravo Very Happy

This piece has been sitting sorely neglected for almost 6 months, but I finally decided to give it a colour job on the computer before all my time gets sapped away once more by school. Given how hesitant I was to colour this (because I really really liked the line art and didn't want to detract from the quality of that too much) and how long it's ben, once again, since I've done any thorough colouring, I'm quite happy with how she turned out. I wish I could think of something a little more interesting than a "shadow" for the background, but there's a graphic quality to the image when it's left to stand alone and I'm not going to mess with that for now.

... I *need* to get a better tablet and a program with pressure sensitivity, cuz this pointy-smearing-everything to get it resembling strokes is for the dogs.

The images isn't all nice and colourful as it should be because my scanner's broken and I used my digital camera. That was the clearest image I got. And you can still mostly see the colours, they're just a bit muted. As for subject matter, it's my character Roxanne in format for a rp that I'm engaged in....

Hi all!

I've been working on two costumes lately. One is a replica Alonzo, where the shoulderfluff is ALMOST done.... half a shoudler left! Might add more black...

The other one is a play with colors on a mostly white kitten, with traits from billbailey/tumble and Victor. I might spiff it up a lil more tho, so it is not ready to get fluffed just yet!

Both the costumes will be for sale via Ebay once they are done - when? I have noooooo idea. I work on them when time and will permits it..

I use yarn mostly, any kind of fluff that is useful. I don't know what anyoene else use, or how they attatch it, but I handstitch the tufts in long rows, about 2-3 inches long rows. It's VERY VERY time consuming and mostly a terrible utterly BORE to do... Blah.. But with some patience it comes out looking ok!

EDIT: I may become rare here for the next two months. I am currently applying for a five years art teacher education and they are asking for a monster sized portfolio. I will be attending two Europe conventions and I have just gotten the approval to have a table in the ARt Show atDragon*Con (I'll send 35 sculptures or so). And the time inbetween that should be used for sleeping goes away for all my customers awaiting their orders. So, if anyone happens to want to contact me you will have to do that via mail. Because thats the only place where I can guarantee an almost daily check.

I have no idea what the public will think of my sculptures, I know there are others there who are professional. I just dont expect I'll get alot of attention.
Of course I hope to improve more until august.

After the DragonCon law I am not a professional but an amateur. I lack the so called VITA paper of regular exhibiting and neither do I feel that my half a year freelance (or now more students evening occupation) can be called truthfully a professional (I know that other artists do).
neither will I be there live, I will need people to bring my art and watch it.
I will have an European convention (EF) at almost the same time and an exposition in Paris (*sizzle* I'm also trying to get used to that, its news since wednesday).
But next year I'll try for professional and a bazar table. And then I'll come Smile

and I'll look forward to all kind of Jellicles Smile

so, who else from here is going there?
as a sidenote, I am looking for art "babysitters" for there. with a custom 3D reward of course.

You can find a doll tutorial for any and every program imaginable. There's even a Doll Tutorial Search Engine, which breaks everything down into categories, including one devoted entirely to MSPaint( http://dtse.xandorra.net/index.php?action=displaycat&catid=63 ) and a category for making a doll start-to-finish( http://dtse.xandorra.net/index.php?action=displaycat&catid=12 ), so if you do decide to start dolling, you'll have help along the way.

Does anyone here play Sims 2? If so, are there any Jellicle Skins out there yet? I've found a few tigers, leopards on the official exchange, one that was very much in the style of Cats, but no actual Cats characters. If there aren't any, I'm going to have a go at making them myself, but I'd love to see any already out there?

Carby's done The Sims skins, but I haven't seen and The Sims 2 skins by him... Though, his The Sims ones are flipping amazing.

Nemi, that's gorgeous. I rarely have the time out to paint either, and was never very good at it to start with, but I do love what watercolours afford to things like CATS portraits when the time is taken - the hatching on the unitard looks all lovely and brush-strokey (er...) as it should look on the "real" thing, and you've got all that ncie texture in the wig. Lovely job Smile

I just spent the weekend in Raligh, NC for Animazement, an anime convention. Since I didn't have time to make anything new to wear to it in terms of costumes, I pulled out the German Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer costumes that I made for last Nekocon. This time I was Mungojerrie rather than Rumpleteazer, who is being worn by a good friend of mine. It's a slightly different costume than last time since I did add the song costume pieces over the basic chorus costume, which was all we had for Nekocon.

And in case anyone was wondering, CATS costumes are recieved quite well at anime conventions. For a good part of the day the two of us were getting stopped every five to ten minutes by people who wanted pictures of our costumes. Cool

Nemi that painting is gorgeous..I wish I could paint that well with anything! But watercolors? That's friggin awesomely done then..I never knew watercolors had so many different dark tones to it.. haha always thought it was watery clear-ish colors only XD But really..I love that painting!
