He was a great King Arthur! Singing was okay, but that's an aspect of the part (Richard Harris, Richard, Burton, etc.), but the acting was fabulous!

For amusements sakes, may I mention that I *didn't* see Lea Salonga in Les Mis on Broadway in Feb 1993 as although she was billed, there was an understudy.

I also *didn't* see Sarah Brightman in Aspects of Love because she failed to get to the theatre on time and after delaying the show by half an hour, they put the understudy on.

I've seen loads of minor famous people on stage though. Can't be bothered with listing all of them.
Salome

GAYBOY..IF YOU ALMOST SAW SARH IN aSPECTS..DIDNT YOU SEE THE LEGENDARY jOHN cULLUM IN THE SAME SHOW?

I must be going nuts, but I skimmed the Social Club page quickly and thought this topic was called "Famous people you'd take a shot at".

Umm... It was a really long time ago, I didn't want to see the show in the first place, the show then bored the socks off me. The extra delay at the beginning waiting for Ms Brightman's non-appearance didn't help. So no, I still don't know if I saw him Razz
Salome

Aspects is one of the only Webber shows i like. thank god I didnt see Brightman though.
RyanJ

Rosie O'Donnell and Harvey Fierstein in Fiddler on the Roof was pretty amazing.

Quote:

Ew. Being in the same building with both of them was pretty amazing but their performances weren't the greatest. Harvey was a pretty good Tevye, but Rosie was terrible! She cannot sing. They didn't exactly have good chemistry either. It was a wierd pairing of famous names. Whenever I see Harvey I think Edna from Hairspray. Edna and Tevye do not go well together. It slightly ruins the show. It's not his fault, but I feel like a really great Tevye isn't very good at any other roles because they just need to scream "I'M A TEVYE" all over. You can't act Tevye. You need to BE Tevye. Which Harvey really wasn't.

Our row XX seats didn't make his acting any better. I could see his gut but not his face.

I've seen some people who are famous around theatre but not in other places like Roger Bart when he returned to Leo in the Producers. Gary Beach was in that same production and he was absolutely amazing (as was Roger) I also got to meet Roger after and go onstage which, needless to say, was freaking incredible.

I also saw Laura Benanti live a lot before she was famous. Unfortunately, I was about three at the time so I don't remember her performances in Into the Woods or Evita at the local community theatre. I saw her in the Wedding Singer (all original cast) and that was great, though.
BroadwayBaby0202

I saw Harvey Fierstein and Dick Latessa in the Vegas cast of Hairspray last spring.. that was really cool considering they were in the OBC and everything.
Paula74

Richard Harris in the tour of Camelot
