Hey everyone!

So I'm in my junior year of IB, and for those of you familiar with the program, that means it's time to think about my extended essay. (For those of you who aren't, the extended essay is a <4000 word paper you write as a part of the program requirements).

Anyway, I need to identify my top three subject area choices by Thursday.
The problem I'm having, however, is with the rule that your paper cannot be interdisciplinary- that is, I cannot write a history of Broadway (to be extremely general) and call it a theatre paper. And I can't analyze lyrics and call it a music paper.

Ideally, I'd like to do something on Sondheim, but I'm stuck on exactly what to talk about, and more pressingly, which subject area I would have to write it in. I know there are a few IB grads on here, but if anyone has advice I would appreciate it!

I wasn't full diploma, some of my friends were, but ah yes the dreaded IB EE.

If you do Sondheim, my guess is something it would fall under theatre. And, if I remember right, don't you have to have sort of "To what extent..." question?
