Exciting News/Rant

Our high school football team made it to the state finals. So, on Friday, or school's cast of Beauty and the Beast will be performing Be Our Guest at the halftime show (the game will also be aired, live, on a local network).

(here comes the rant):

Our principal cancelled one of our performances so we can be at the game. Our dates have been scheduled since July, looong before football started. So, now, we only have 3 performances. And I'm reaally upset. This show was gonna be awesome. And now less people will be able to see it.

The people that were upset about not being albe to go to the game were also the people that never came to rehearsals. So, we will look like (insert whatever word you like here) on television, all because these people didn't have the courtesy to come to rehearsals. And it's not fair. At all.

Whatever, I'll hopefully look fantastic. And I know my stuff inside and out. Because I've been to every rehearsal. Those other people can (and will!) look like fools...

(All right, it wasn't a rant, so much as a paragraph...but still) Evil or Very Mad

I think that's really unfair. If dates have been set in stone, they're set in stone. No question.

ON the bright side... the network coverage could publicise the show hence more people will come to the 3 performances. Chin up =]

Sadly when admin gets involved it's hard to do anything about it. I don't know where you are located, but if it's in a colder region I would not allow it as a director. Put me outside for several hours and I'd end up with a nasty cold which would make my singing not so pretty.

Sorry they've soured your experience. Seeing as there is nothing you can do about it, try to have fun and make the best of it Wink

After all of this, our performance wasn't even shown on tv...grr...

And it was literally about 2 degrees outside, and we weren't allowed to wear costumes while performing. So, the ensemble was basically wearing a white button down and black slacks. In the cold. For half an hour.

And we technically weren't supposed to yell, but it was a wicked close game, so we were screaming at the top of our lungs. We all had no voice the next day, and it made our baker sound kind of like a stalker...

Other than that, lots of fun!

We lost, btw d'oh!
