Excellent Show!

I saw The Drowsy Chaperone in Los Angeles before it went to New York and loved it. What does everyone else think of it? I am so excited it has its own forum.

My guess would be a couple of hours.

Sweeeet. Same with Mary Poppins, I'm guessing?

Why wasn't this in the announcements?

I can't wait to see this show. When I saw the rehsearal video I loved it!

I want to see it so bad! I had the chance to see it in LA with my school - and to be able to talk with the actors after - but I didn't go. :[

Never heard of this show. d'oh!

I saw it in NY, and absolutely loved it. Sutton Foster is so amazing, I've loved her before this, but this made me love her even more. My favorite song was probably "Show Off" (the one they performed at the Tonys), I can't wait until the sheet music comes out; I smell a school talent show song! Smile

Well, I would imagine that many non-Americans who do not have PayTV (or Cable as I believe you call it) would have missed the Tonys as they are sadly not as prolific in other countries.

I only know about it cause friends of mine saw it during previews and on their reviews I've looked it up.

Just got back from NYC, this was a fantastic show! Great ensemble show.

it looks really good

I've only seen the performace of 'Show Off' when I was at the Tony's, but it was flat out AMAZING. I really want to see the rest of the show now.... Laughing
glinda_vandegraaff

I saw it last Wednesday night. (Spoilers kind of)

The show is just fabulous. I've never seen something so clever and innovative in a long time - just everything from the phone ringing to the CD skipping to putting on the wrong record for Act II... it's just brilliant.

(End "kind of" spoilers)

Bob Martin is just perfect. There's no other way to describe the man. I watched him for a lot of the show, since he's obviously onstage the entire time. Just watching his reactions and everything... he's present the entire way through.

Go, just go!!! It is hiliouse! You need to see it to see it to understand all the jokes in the songs. It is a must see!

Me too! Weird. Loved it. I did a workshop with a couple of the cast. Learned Toledo Surprise. Great fun.

Missed it in LA, then stood in line to get tickets to it in NYC just to realize that it was sold out that day Evil or Very Mad I want to see it so bad!
ICEcreamAssassin78

Saw it in LA too.. absolutely great.. the show was quick and tight.. never really slowing down.. I was feeling a lil tired and sluggish before we got to the theatre.. and I left feeling great. I've been dying to see it in NY just to relive the experience. Do yourself a favor and go see it. BTW the soundtrack doesn't do the show justice..see it live.
lesmisroxmysox

amazing... thats all I have to say!

Yes, "Show Off" is the most catchiest song on the record. I have the Broadway Cast Album, I did a listen through, And it is a pleasant show, pretty funny.

I saw Drowsy in NYC when I went a few weeks ago...after trying desperately to get cheap tickets to Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, I agreed with my mom that we would put own names in the lottery for a second time in three days, and see what happened. And I won Very Happy It was definately worth it...sure, I didn't get to see Sherie Rene Scott, but the cast of the show was altogether one of the best I have ever seen...the content and songs and characters were ingenious and hilarious. And it was genuinely entertaining, throughout. Worth every minute...I only wish there had been a few /more/ minutes in the show.
