I actually auditioned for Juan Peron last year. I auditioned with Bui doi from Miss saigon. Of course I dropped the key a little bit. It did get me to the callback for Juan peron. Unfortanently I F'd up the call back.
Another good Political type song is The day after that from Kiss of a spiderwoman.
Stars From Les mis. Is pretty good since the song deals with duty and ones self ambitions. Of course its Les mis and some people frown on that.

I like the idea of Day after that from Kiss of the Spiderwoman.
Also, how about another Lloyd Webber:
The title song from Sunset Boulevard would work or even "The greatest star of all" from the same show.
Also "You should be loved" from Sideshow.
"No moon" from Titanic.
"An ordinary guy" from Amour.
"Love can't happen" from Grand Hotel.
