It was a TV movie made 40 or 50 years ago about a guy who runs away and lives in a department store ("If You Can Find Me, I'm Here") where he finds other people who had the same idea. One of which was a girl ("I Remember" and "When") who wants to leave that world ("Take Me to the World"). The TV movie was never released to DVD, but you can view it at the Museum of Television and Radio in New York, NY and Beverly Hills, CA.
It's a great (though short) musical with the typical Sondheim music that has a bit of a sound like The Fantasticks. There are several recordings. Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters (the team from Sunday in the Park With George) recorded the songs from E.P. for Mandy's CD Dress Casual. There was a 1997 recording with Liz Callaway and Gary Beach. There was also a recording in 2001 with Neil Patrick Harris and Theresa McCarthy. This CD also includes music from Sondheim's The Frogs (This is the CD I suggest you get).

I LOVE the song "I Remember." It's so pretty. I have (through illegal downloading... shh...) a recording of Meghan Mullally (I think that's her name) singing it too, but it's not the best I've ever heard- it's waaaay to slow for my taste
