EVELYN ADVICE

Hi, I just got the part of Evelyn in the 1987 version, and I am really excited about the part. I was just wondering if anyone (possibly anyone who's played the part) had any advice on how to play the character, as most of his lines seem like they just play off of his foreign-ness.

THanks!
Salome

Lord Evelyn is a very proper..very stuffy young man. His entire life is spent doing what his stairion in life demands. he is freed of his ways by Reno Sweeney.

hey...I played Lord Evelyn in 2005 and it was the most fun I've had on stage. He's just such an amazing character. My advice -- have fun with this, because you can; Evelyn is completely clueless and funny, so keep that in mind. Also, "The Gypsy In Me" So much fun to perform, and during it your drunk (if you don't already know)... need I say more.
Good Luck!
Gypsy

I was just cast as Lord Evelyn for my high school spring musical. I'm really excited, I put Evie as my first choice because i just adore the song 'Gypsy In Me'. I think its so ritzy and tangoish. Haha excuse my bad word framing, but anyways I read over his lines and hes sooo clueless. This is going to be a very fun role to preform on stage ^__^ I think the role I've enjoyed most so far to tell you the truth.
