Congrats! Ethel is the girlfriend of Marcellus and a member of the Mayor's wife's posse of gossiping ladies. She also plays the piano. Our Ethel in my production is being played as a girly-girl, not ditsy, but just very giggly and feminine. A "wide-eyed wholesome innocent female", if you will.

Our also got to dance front and center with Marcellus during "The Shipoopi."

Yep! She's gotta be the opposite of the "Sadder, But Wiser Girl" that Harold sings about. Smile Congrats!!

so now
in everything except the movie with broderick and chenoweth, ethel is a larger girl
our script calls for a "curvacious girl of 35"
im not sure what the director wants me to do yet
physically im not fat, but im not Twiggy either.
?

Eh, I don't think it matters what she looks like, really.

Curvaceous can be taken two ways.

If it's in the "kinder way of saying a bigger girl" than I think the point is that Marcellus went for the sweet, wholesome average girl, rather than the bombshell hottie.

It might also mean curvaceous as in bombshell.
