Engagement.....Hi everyone,I need some advice, and I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. Here's the deal: I want to get engaged to my girlfriend, and she has always dreamed of seeing a Broadway show but never had the opportunity. So, I think taking her to one and asking the big question somewhere during might be a good idea. This is where I need the advice. I don't know a whole lot about this sort of thing, my parents are well traveled and certainly very cultured, but their experiences go back a couple of years so I want to make sure I'm with the times! I live in Toronto, and though she always wanted to see a show in NYC, I've been told that the performances in Toronto are also top notch. Should I spend the extra gazilion dollars to fly down to NY, hotel, etc etc... or can we get the same quality in Toronto? Are there any particularly exceptional shows that I should be considering? Thanks in advance to anyone offering advice Best, A nervous guy. |
| Please,Hello |
If you want her to think you will always go the extra mile, go to New York. |

Yea, it seems like the big shocker would be Broadway, not necessarily the show. You could take her to NYC for the weekend. See a show. And pop the question in central park after a horse and carriage ride!! |

^Yep. Toronto is Canada's Broadway, and it's spectacular. But if you live there, then head to New York.
And if you're looking for a HUUUGE surprise, call up the theatre where the performance is, and ask to talk to the stage manager. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRm0mR1kQ_I&NR=1 |

I've always had the dream of proposing on top of the empire state building. My girlfriend's always wanted to go there to see the view.
But only after dragging her to see a show. |
