Monsieur D'Arque

Dream Cast For A Movie MusicalThis is different than just a dream cast, as these people would have to work well on film too, given the different medium. Different things are possible (special effects, doubling of roles, animation, etc.), while other things might not work as well. Take these into account. Also, remember. A film with no Broadway talent can still be great (see Sweeney Todd), while a film with all Broadway talent can still be abysmal (see The Producers, Rent).

I dont' like them much.
But name me one better and age appropriate actress who would bring crowds to either of these.

Why would you have Seth McFarlane play an older man?

Okayyyyyy. It looks like some one's been thinking about this for a whiiiiile. And I actually think Ashley Tidsdale is a decent choice. She has film *and* Broadway experience, and as much as I don't like her singing, she hasn't had many chances to really expose (for lack of a better word) her acting talent.

Ever seen him live?
The guy is relatively chameleonic, and has the right bearing and presence. I'm not sure of his actual age. He may be too young, in which case, i would recommend Nathan Lane or Rob Bartlett. I just happened to hear Seth in my mind and realized how hysterical his Mushnik could be.

Les Miserables ('cause someone had to do it)
JEAN VALJEAN: Mandy Patinkin
JAVERT: Brian Stokes Mitchell or Kelsey Grammer
FANTINE: Stephanie J. Block
COSETTE: Anne Hathaway (very pretty, great actress, and a soprano!)
MARIUS: Adam Jacobs (can't imagine him not being telegenic)
EPONINE: Ellen Page (is she too cute for this role?)
THENARDIER: Jason Alexander
MME. THENARDIER: Jenny Galloway
ENJOLRAS: James Marsden
GAVROCHE: Freddie Highmore
LITTLE COSETTE: Any little girl who doesn't belt. Check out Kathryn Foley on YouTube ... she's a little old now (13) but her Castle on a Cloud was really well done when she was 10.
Note: as this would be a movie, the way the characters look would have to be slightly more believable. I was going to put Lea Salonga down as my pick for Fantine ... but considering there's no way she could have mothered Anne Hathaway, I switched.

mosto f your choices either cant act or wouldnt have the draw for a film.
and asm uch as i like jason alexander he's too american and not the right ype for thenardier.

Jason would be my first pick for Thenardier, but others I've thought of include Ray Winstone, Nathan Lane, Danny DeVito, and (tell me you didn't see this one coming) Marty Short.
He's got exactly the right voice type for the part. Maybe he's a little thin, but he does sleazy extremely well (watch his one-man show and maybe Santa Clause), and as long as you cast someone taller as Mme T, the contrast would be great.
