Drama AuditionI'm auditioning for my school's drama club (not really a "club", but whatever) and they said we should sing something from a musical. I wanted to sing part of So Much Better from Legally Blonde, but because I'm 13 and go to a very strict catholic school, I have to change some of the lyrics. Does anyone have any suggestions for the lines:
"Remember when we spent Spring Break in the hot tub every night"
and
"It's like making love with you all night"?
I'm trying to replace them witht hings that are G-rated (lol) and fit the amount of syllables in the line.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I love this song..but I wouldn't change the words...I have several suggestions for you though...
1) Pick a different song...a G-rated one...there are plenty out there that are better for your age (since the character Elle is a lot older than 13) I can give you some really good suggestions if you tell me your range, etc..
2) Cut the song and exclude the not-so-G-rated stuff... maybe only sing the first verse and the end...or something. Will you have accompaniment, or are you going to be singing acapella? If you are singing acapella it would be really easy to just basically cut and paste what you want to sing. If you have an accompaniest just show him/her the music with the cuts and stuff..
I would honestly suggest a different song, especially since So Much Better is pretty hard on a young voice and you don't want to strain yourself.

how about i know things now from into the woods? it's for a young girl and isn't too harsh on the voice. if you do decide to do it, make sure you know exactly what you wan to to do musically with it, and watch different versions to get an idea of how to perform it
good luck!!

If you are looking for something a bit more appropriate that is sort of like Legally Blonde, why not try Popular from Wicked?
It is overdone, but if its not an audition for a musical, they probably wouldn't mind.
You could aslo try "Legally Blonde" from Legally Blonde. Its the same range, without that last note, and there is nothing inappropriate.
