dos Eulalie actually sing?

calling Eulalie an alto in most breakdowns - but what does she really
sing?

I was thinking How Can Love Survive (baroness from SoM) is a good snobby song for character, but not exactly alto.

what about Open a New Window from Mame? a low belty song for a self confident older woman.
Salome

since Gingold played the the role try "liaisons" from ALNM...Eulalie patters thwe lead part in "PIck a Little Talk a little" thats the extent of her vocals.

I would hardly call that alto.

and Liasons isn't sung at all - not sure it would go over good at a singers chorus call.

they will want a voice who can carry the ensemble parts.
Salome

have you heard regina resnik's all sung version?
Robinflamingo

I played Eulalie, and I'm an alto. However, I have no earthly idea, other than original casting, why it is called an alto part. Pick a little goes right up the scale at the end - "pick a little talk a little CHEEP" - and it's not an alto note.

As Eulalie, I was expected to be lead alto in every ensemble song, since she's onstage for everything. There are also at least three quick changes in one scene.

It's a blast of a role!

If I'm called back, its because I remind them of Molly Shannon, not Gingold. and the choreographer knows I can still put my foot behind my head. could be comedic.

She is supposed to end "Columbia, the Gem of the Ocean" with a sour note or two.

"The high banners be tear and be tembled when born by the red white and bl...UUUUUUOOOOOO!!!"

And then at blue Mrs. Shinn sings a really high note, although she doesn't have sing that note well Wink so i guess she could be an alto
Chevstriss

well its over. we only got 8 bars so I just sang "2 millionaires w/ a dream are we, we'll make our love surviiiiiiiiiiiiiiive"

they basically only wanted people who have doen the show before, it's a 5 day rehearsel period.

The line is actually "Thy banners make tyranny tremble...when born by the red, white, and bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuue."
