Does flounder have a crush on Ariel?So I just bought the CD and I was listening to "She's in Love" and the tone of Flounder's voice and the way he says his lines sort of sounds like he is mad/sad Ariel is in love. In the movie there are slight hints at it but in the Stage musical does he have a bigger crush on her. I haven't seen the show so I was just wondering. Thanks!

Yeah, I thought so too when I was listening to the same song!
Like, when he says "See her hips, the way they swish..." or whatever the lyrics are. I could definitely see it. It doesn't add much at all to the plot, just kind of fun to think about, I guess.

Can't say much about it, since I haven't seen the musical or heard the music, but in the movie is was always like a childish infatuation

I don't see it as a crush at all. Prior to Ariel falling in love with Eric, she and Flounder did everything together. They were good buddies, and I think Flounder's feelings during "She's In Love" was one of disapointment. Like, "I had a real good friend and she's totally blowing me off and I'm a little sensitive about it". Anyway, that's how I see it.

when i was listening i thought i might be cute to have flounder come out with a girlfriend at the end. Flounder waves to Ariel at the wedding, at the end, she then waves back, notices flounder and a girl holding hands, and giggles to her self and smiles  this i thought would be a nice way of having foulder have an ending like Ariel

That's a really cute idea!
Only problem is, you would have to incorporate the "girlfriend" in a few other scenes, otherwise
a) No one will know who she is
b) The poor girl will have to show up, get into makeup/ hair/ costume for one scene.
Awesome idea, though! Very cute ending!
