does aunt eller sing?? :P

well, as i said in my other post (please read that one if you can! Very Happy) my school is doing "oklahoma!" this year and although i REALLY want to be ado annie, aunt eller is my second choice, and the part that i think i'm most likely to get, so i was wondering if she sings at all during the show. if so, how much? i can't really tell from the soundtrack who's singing when, but i love to sing so i'm hoping if i get this part that i'll be able to sing at least a little bit during the show, hehe. thanks for everything!! Cool

Yes, she definitely sings.

In Farmer and the Cowman, and Oklahoma.

She might have a few more (singing) lines, but I know for sure her significant solos are in Farmer and the Cowman and Oklahoma.

Aunt Eller has more lines than either Ado Annie or Laurey.

She sets the tone for the entire village. She pretty much runs things around the town, so she is very important.

She has a huge solo section of Farmer and the Cowman, some solos in Oklahoma, and maybe other songs, too.

Its a very good role.

Aunt Eller...

She also runs the Auction at the Carnes House.... (We did Oklahoma) last year (that is my costume from last year)

she does have morel ines than Ado Annie but Laurey still has the most lines out of the female roles.

Eller is a great role. she binds the show together as the town's matriarch.

Eller is a very fun part to play. You can go from being very sweet and motherly to Laurie to acting like a western coot to everyone else. She has a significant role in "Farmer and the Cowman", a few solo lines in "Oklahoma!", and she has a dancing part in "Kansas City".

My school might be performing Oklahoma next year, I would love to play Aunt Eller. =)
