Do they have the cadillac in Sydney?

Hello all. I just saw a YouTube clip of a Sydney news piece showing The American Dream and it had the cadillac! Can someone please confirm this? If in fact they brought back in the cadillac for Sydney, I will make the trip to see it. I saw it seven times in Melbourne but I just feel my Miss Saigon experience is not complete without the cadillac. Smile Thanks in advance.

I went to see it in Sydney.

The car definitely made an appearance in The American Dream.

What about the helicopter?

Thanks, Mara! I just bought my front row tickets.

Now I know this might be asking too much, but what about the helicopter? Is it still the projected animation like in Melbourne? They couldn't possibly have brought in the mechanical thing, could they? As I said in my previous posts, the digital imaging was a disaster for me. The boarding by Chris and the marines was so unnatural it looked like their heads hit against the helicopter's floor by the door. And they jumped down on to the helicopter rather than walk in.
Mara

Still a projected animation.

It doesn't line up with the soldiers. Your description was accurate for what happens in Sydney too.

What did they have instead of the car in Melbourne?

They just had a set of stairs with marquee lights and the Engineer went up and down it with a cane, and on the back wall were projected images of Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty morphing in different images. The animation was made by the same guy who did Pink Floyd's The Wall and the feel is quite similar. Too passe if you ask me.
Mara

The images of Lady Liberty were still projected (from memory) but there was definitely a car.

Yes, I left a message with the theatre two days ago and they just called back...the cadillac is in the show. Thanks again.

I've been away from this forum for a long time. Swung by and realised I forgot to report on this.

I saw the show in Sydney and the Cadillac did make a huge difference. It was simply awesome. I'll never be fully satisfied again with The American Dream without it.
