Do the performers use fat suits in Hairspray??Just wondering if the roled of Edna and Tracy are traditionally played by heavier people of if they sometimes use fat suits..I don't mean this to be offensive I was just wondering because I know that Shoshana Bean played Tracy well was the understudy and I don't think of her being heavy at all..unless she lost a lot of weight in the years between that and Wicked...I know when I saw it both Edna and Tracy were played by heavier actors and they were amazing and of course Harvey and Marissa..are amazing..I was just wondering!!

Some do use fat suits. And sometimes even the plus-size Tracys do if they start to lose weight. It means they won't have to alter the costumes.
