Disney's HSM-Audition Tips?Hiya, I'm auditioning for Gabriella at a summer camp music workshop in May, and I'm looking for advice. Obviously since it's a camp I am guaranteed a spot in the show, but we are doing full scale auditions and everything. I've been in the show before (through my school) and was put in the chorus,s eeing as how I wasn't old enough for a lead. Now, 2 years later, I will be in the oldest group of kids at the camp.
A little info about me: I am 5'3, 120 pounds, strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes, fair skinned. I am a soprano in my school choir but can sing alto as well. I have professional vocal training (my voice teacher is the director!), dance training (I've done the show before so I know the whole routine for 'We're All in This Together' already plus others) and have had acting training and leads in shows such as "Hello, Dolly!" (Minnie Fay) "Peter Pan" (Tiger Lilly) and "Beauty and the Beast" (Mimi).
I realize that based on looks I would probably be more posed for Sharpay, but I want Gabriella more than anything! So, I'm asking for this: tips on what clinches Gabriella at auditions (i.e. what can I do to make myself really stand out as a huge potentiall threat for Gabriella. Adivce from casting directors, directors, actresses who have played her, etc. is very very welcome!) and what I could do to really try and stand out and do my best. Any help is welcome!

Would you do me a favor and give whoever decided to do HSM a good slap in the face? Something that seems to clinch Gabriella at auditions is experience in the pornography business (well, it worked for Vanessa Hudgens). Sorry that was bitchy, I just deplore HSM.
My personal gripes aside, I have no substantial advice for you, sorry. Whatever you do, just make sure you're animated and that your song feels right and you'll be sure to stand out anyway. Just make it your own.

It's summer camp...
Which will probably be mostly younger kids, preteens.
Whoever picked HSM was being fairly intelligent in my opinion. Kids will enjoy it. Kids will really want to perform it.
So, do me a favor and don't slap them in the face. Thank you.
Audition tip: Sing through your nose...it worked with the movie stars...
Okay, for real...just read the auditions thread and use the tips from there. I don't have any advice to give you except the typical advice.

Where are you doing this, like where do you live? I'm doing a workshop this summer, guarrunteed parts in the show, auditions are in May, and we're doing HSM....
