In a few productions i've seen on youtube, they change her race so she is whatever race the girl is who's playing Diana. I'd love to play her...... if i could dance better...

is it pc to have someone play the role who looks puerto rican/spanish..aka dark hair dark eyes? I mean natalie wood played maria in the movie of west side story.

My dream role is Maggie but no way in heck could I hit that high E, even in falsetto. High C is the highest I can go. And I'd obviously need implants to do Dance 10 Looks 3 - LOL!

Agreed.
I could pull off Val. I think.
But "Nothing" is the best song ever written.. I absolutely adore it, and having a teacher like that, I feel like I understand that character.

^ i know where you're coming from.... if there's lots of girls who are triplethreats who look Puerto Rican, go for Val. She's such a fun part! 
You could be Puerto Rican because you've lived there and NOT because your family is Puerto Rican, so you'd still have all the background that Diana needs. They could make you up for the show too if you get it... god i hope you get it!
Oh! and if you don't fancy being "plastic" as Val, what about Bebe? She gets some really good lines and Judy as well, if you're tall... i love Judy, she's so funny

I'm playing this role right now!
It's not at all a big production, only one performance in June after 2 terms of classes once a week. But it's still SO much fun and im really excited! Such a fun role.
And Vikefantam, you don't need implants! There's always theatrical padded bras!

is there a height limit for diana. I'm a bit under 5'6" and our diana is TINY so I am kind of like..uh oh. I know connie has to be short and sheila has to be tall and kristine and judy are traditionally tall but is there a requirement for diana?
and yeah I don't think implants are necessary our val is just using a lot of rice and padding!
