I'd have to agree. Colleen Atwood is one of my favorite designers, but this is NOT her best work. I also don't like his hair. Looks to much like Cruella Divil(SP?)

Actually, I really like the costume, although Depp's hair is a liitle to Cruella Devil-esque, as BenjaminB mentioned. But all in all, it's actually a decentn costume, it may not be exactly like the stage show costume, but it suits Depp's figure.

Hate the hair...the rest of the costume isn't bad...I think we al knew that Burton was probably going to change what we know the characters to look like...which I don't have a problem with...however, I always thought Sweeney looked best in the Cariou/Hearn style or the Bob Gunton way. I'm very curious to see Mrs. Lovett, Pirelli (who I don't think will be too different), Tobias, Beadle, and Turpin.

This just must be the costume designer in me, but I despise the pants. It, in my humble opinion, doesn't go with the vest and shirt. It seems out of sorts.

I think Hearn is sexier than Cariou.
Anyway, about Depp's outfit, I think it's rather interesting. I personally think (as I said before on another thread) that the white streak in his hair is too much.
Other than that though, I think the look works for Depp. I try to think of it as a newer, fresher, interpetation of Sweeney Todd.
And I don't hear people complaining about how the revival looked.
