Deciding between showsHey all,
So, I have the chance to ausition for one of two shows, Playboy of the Western World and The Crucible. At the moment, I can't decide which one to audition for, becuase they are both great shows.
The Crucible is being done at an all boys school in my area, they have an amazing theatre program, and I have worked with them before.
Playboy is being done as a Community Theatre show with the company that I have worked with and gotten leads with before.
I am also going to be doing costumes for my school's winter musical 'Fiddler' at the same time as one of these 2 shows.
Anyway, I have made countless pro/con lists, and I can't seem to come to a decision.
Any suggestions?

Is there a way you can audition for both and then decide depending on your part?

what kind of roles would you be up for in each show? I'm not familiar with the Playboy one either. In Crucible you have the chance to work on some acting chops, and potentially have a good role, since it is a school production. good roles in the other may go to adults/more age appropriate people.

I think I'll end up going for Crucible, unforunatley I can't audition for both because the auditions are on the same day.
My main con for Crucible is that I will be auditioning against half of the girls in my school theatre program, girls who I just got Vera over in And Then There Were None. Lets say we aern't an the best of terms.
It is true though, if I audition for Crucible, I have more of a chance of getting a lead, wheras in Playboy, I'd probabally be cast as one of the 4 teenage girls.
Thanks for the help...I'm going to do Crucible.
