Davis, CA

Ok, I'm moving up to Davis this school year and I was wondering whether there is a local theater there. I did some research and UC Davis has a theatre, but the school doesn't really give much info about their theatre program.

I looked around at some search sites and got resulted with this: http://www2.dcn.org/davis/culture/perform

Heh I hope that helps. Angel

Davis is a nice little town. I stayed there for a few weekends when a friend was getting her Biology degree there. One of the times I was there, the local theatre was doing Annie (be quiet, sometimes I like the show), but I didn't have time to see it. They seem to have a thriving, if small, theatre community.

There's also Sacramento Music Circus, which is not too far from Davis.

I saw the line up for the season and I love it. I really want to try out for Beauty and the Beast, but I'm not sure whether it will be during my freshman year or not. If I try out it will be my frist actual theatre audition. Sure I've done high scgool, but this would be more professional. Just to get my legs I would even be a tree! What do you do at open auditions? I'm sorry, but I really don't know....so please take it easy on me. What would you recommend an alto (I can sing mezzo, but feel more comfortable in alto) to sing for an audition for camelot?

I couldn't tell you. I'm not an actor.

Open auditions means they will see non-union, and you don't have to go thru a pre-screening.

Closed auditions mean they are only seeing people thru agents or chosen from pictures and resumes submitted.

the terms have nothing to do w/ the set up of the room or who will be in the room.
