I caught the beginning of the show last night, did you know Marissa Jaret Winokur is on it this season, she dances tonight.

Yup. Marissa should be good. Without ever having seen the women I would guess that she and Kristi Yamaguchi will be the ones to beat. I'm rooting for Kristi because I've met her a few times and she is a really super person as well as being a gifted athlete and a hard worker. We'll have to see how this shakes out.

Of the male performers I thought Mario was the best dancer, although I'm not sure how they figured that music was a Cha Cha. I don't think that Julianne Hough will repeat again this year as her partner, Adam, sucks (BTW - at this point I think she is a bigger celebrity than he is). Penn Jilette is fun to watch but he moves like a railroad switching engine. Look for him to be another early departure.

All the female pros looked spectacular. I wish my partners had looked that good when I was a dancer in my younger years. I might have chucked the engineering profession and turned pro dancer.

Well the ladies got a chance to perform last night and they served the men notice - these ladies have game! This is going to be a fun season. My first impressions:

Kristi (my girl) - Knocked it out of the park! She's definitely the front runner at this point.

Marissa - She's got talent, but she needs to learn to channel all that energy. Last night it just exploded all over the place.

Marlee - WOW Did an unbelievable job. I've always been imprressed with her ability as an actress. Last night she showed just how capable she is at whatever whe wants to do.

Priscilla - Did surprisingly well. She's much older than the rest of the competition, but she is really working hard and is not backing off at all. BTW - Who embalmed her face?

Shannon - Has some dance talent. She's definitely working the long legs factor trying to get Bruno's votes.

Monica - Is not in her comfort zone. She looked terrified last night. I hope she learns to relax and enjoy herself. She has some potential.

Overall I thought the girls this year outshone the men. I guess two couples get eliminated next week. I hope it will be the bottom 2 men, but I don't think that's how the show is structured. I think that Monica (the lowest scoring woman) was better than either Adam or Penn.

I'm a little bummed out that my three favorite people on the show (Penn Jillette, Adam Carolla and Shannon Elizabeth) are already turning out to be some of the worst dancers. I don't know if I'm going to make it through the whole season, haha, but it's fun to watch.

Well I'm glad to see that Marissa improved her performance this week. Next week she's doing the jive, which suits her personality and style better than the dances she has performed so far. I hope she continues to improve and stays on a while. I don't give her much chance of winning this thing however.

I agreed with the decision to let Penn Jilette and Monica Seles go. They were the weakest dancers of the bunch. Monica is a classy lady, but she can't dance. She actually said in an interview that she can't find the beat in music.

I only wish they could have let 2 of the men go instead. Adam Carolla deserves to go for his lack of dance skills as well as his abominable behavior. He actually called one of the judges a b***h on national TV. Julianne (his partner) deserved a better guy than this. Now she has to put up with the clod for at least another week. I hope he's the next to go.

Marlee Matlin continues to amaze me. She (like Monica) can't hear the beat, but she has such natural flow, rhythm, and expression that she excels anyway. I hope she stays in it for a long time.

Mario and Jason Taylor are both looking good at this point. As predicted Kristi Yamaguchi (my girl) is blowing away the rest of the field. I really hope she gets the fan vote because she really deserves to win - based on the performances to date.

If you like country, you'll like her. She has a website with her music on it. She sounds to me a little like Lori Morgan mixed with Carrie Underwood.

Kristi, I think, is going to win this competition. She is lightyears ahead of everybody else.

What bothered me is how Bruno said "You were flawless. There was not a single thing wrong in that dance" and then he gives her a 9.

Marissa, the poor thing, just isn't that great. She is just... real happy to be there, but other than that, not good. I hope she really improves though because she is trying sooo hard. I have a feeling she is letting nerves get to her

Y'all can't take everything Adam Carolla says offensively. He is an insult comic. He is just joking around. My parents can't stand him either though. Maybe its something between the generation gap.

I was sad Penn was gone. He has the same sense of humor I do. He also looked as if he was having the most fun out of anybody.

My new favorite gossip is how Priscilla Presley has now admitted to having a botched plastic surgery on her face. Uh... duh!

I actually enjoy carolla on the show...his talking actually makes the interviews entertaining and not sappy like EVERYONE else.
