Dancing in CinderellaI will be auditioning for a community production of Cinderella fairly soon, and am set on the lead role. While my age/appearance, voice and character all fit very well with the character, I am worried about my dancing skills, and am wondering if anyone familiar with the show can indicate how difficult the dancing is. I have seen the Lesley Ann Warren version on video, and took note of the waltzing and brief ballet sequence- I'm just not sure of how exactly the choreography might translate to a community theatre production.
Some info in me: with my lack of training, I have been lucky in my experience to have played lead characters who perform little or no dancing in their respective shows. I did take jazz for a short time when I was younger, and have recently taken it up again. I can certainly move when taught, but it does take me a bit to figure out the coordination.
Keeping in mind that this is a community theatre production, can anyone give me some helpful feedback about whether or not this role is out of my reach, or how to deal with my audition? Any responses from choreographers in particular would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
