Damn Yankees- ?

Community Theater.
I should rephrase that- BIASED community college theater.

Part for me?
Worth the gas money to drive to auditions?
Salome

nothing for a teen. all the lead roles are adults.
Sweeney Hyde

You could be a good Lola (it was originally played by Gwen Verdon)...how far away is it? What is your range?
christinadaae

It's not far away at all.
I'm a mutantly-high soprano. With a decent belt.

I only know some songs, not the plot.
But, just adults? I'll pass.
Sweeney Hyde

Hold on a minute! You said this group was biased...well how could it heart to audition...it could be your opportunity to get in with the group! Just go in saying you want to be Lola, probably the best part in the show next to the Devil, and sing something like "don't Tell Mama" from Cabaret or "I'm Not At All in Love" from the Pajama Game. You also never know who doesn't audition that they were plaining on auditioning...just go for it for goodness sake!
Salome

except. Lola is a teenager..she's a woman. I love you Christina but you need another 7 or 8 years before playing Lola.
Sweeney Hyde

But it never hurts to just go and audition Salome, especially if it is a group you woulld like to work with in the future. It would show that she is interested. The worst that could happen is that she doesn't get in or is in the chorus. I still say go for it...AND because it is COMMUNITY THEATRE it won't hurt to at least try for a part.

I agree with Salome. Go if you want the audition experience, but don't expect anything.
