Cringeworthy songs

I have just mustered up the courage to watch Carousel...it was part of a box set I got for Xmas. I didnt think any musical could make my skin crawl as much as State fair, but this one takes the biscuit for one very good reason.

Who in the hell thought the Clambake song was a good idea. This has to be the number one cringe envoking, vomit prompting heap of puss I've ever heard...unless that is, you know a worse one?
Monsieur D'Arque

I think it's a good song, but perfectly useless in context. The very act of having the lights come up on the company immediately after the clambake would do the same, especially since they sing things to the effect that they're stuffed to the point of bursting- then dance exuberantly.

We did the Guten Tag Hop-Clop from the Producers movie during our performance of the song. It was funny.

It's called "Paris Makes Me Horny". It's from Victor/Vistoria. It's not so much the song that makes me crings as the character, Norma who sings it. She's one of those annoying dumb blonde moll types. The actress was excellent, but the chradcter just makes me want to run a knife through her..and THAT song...*shudder* ugh...
