Crazy rumors about youNot talking about the mean-spirited b*tchy ones that always get started, I'm just talking about the wierd ones.For example: The costume designer last night told me that a couple of the guys asked if I was putting lotion on my arms and legs to make them look whiter? She told them, um, no, it's to make them less DRY! (apparently they observed I am very pale and also that I was putting lotion on, therefore the lotion made me pale?) Yes folks, I am a white white white girl.

Me and my best friend are very close, therefore everyone thinks we're lesbians! I was talking to this kid in class one day when my phone vibrated and I had gotten a text. I said "Ooh, my boyfriend just texted me." And I'm a fast talker, and I guess it came out as "My girlfriend just texted me." and the guy said "Oh, Whitney?" I had to explain that Whit and I are not together! | ||||||

lol!! That was funny. I too can relate to Da_Dark_Dude and I Love Lockstock. My best friend is not only gay, he is twice my age and could be my father! I'm 28, he's 51. People always give us strange looks. I kind of don't blame them though, it's not every day you see a short, young, Hispanic dude hanging around with a much taller, older white dude, unless he's his whore he picked up from the corner somewhere. It's no big deal when we hang out in regular places but when we go to a gay club, that's where everyone assumes I'm his lover or whore. Ick. Ick. Yuck. Sh*t.

Argh! A few years ago there was a rumor that my best friend (at the time) and I were lesbians... That bothered me quite a lot. Not because I have anything against gay people (um, DUH) but because it bothered me that people saw it as a bad thing, and that they wanted to say bad things about me. What makes it worse is that she actually is a lesbian (though she wasn't out back then), so now I wonder if people think that it was actually true. It's not; I'm straight as a line. Ugh.
Another thing that hurt a LOT was last year, someone made an extremely cruel fake MySpace page for a boy who goes to my school, and everyone thought it was me. This guy is a real asshole, and plenty of people dislike him, but I was the most verbal person in voicing my distaste for him, particularly (LOL, surprise surprise), so everyone thought that I had to be the one who did it. I mean, even some of my closest friends (who were friends with him, too) thought it was me. It really hurt that people thought I could or would do something so childish, and cruel! I'm sure people still think I did it. That's so uncool

Last year, I supposedly had a nose job over spring break.
This is less unusual, but it's recent. I had this conversation a while ago: ME: So I went over and helped (Person X) finish the CWP project. FRIEND: Right, "helped finish the project." ME: What was that supposed to mean? FRIEND: I'm just teasing you. ME: Why would you say that? FRIEND: Oh...you know what people are saying about you two. ME: Are people saying something about us?! FRIEND: Oh sh!t. It went downhill from there. |

When I got cast in the fall show my freshman year, after auditioning on my first day of school, there was a rumor that I was actually a drop out coming back to school after many years.
Meaning, I was older than all of them, so I got a part. Which is feasible, because I have always looked ridiculously older. This was only among two bitter people, though. And it quickly died. |

I just moved schools.
And I am fairly intelligent. Well, I was in top sets at my other school but only about middle ability of the top sets. It seems like the level of intelligence was quite high in my old school. So, there's this rumour going round that in my old school i was so smart, I got moved up to year nine and then when I moved up i got bullied for being so smart. and that's why i moved schools. Quique, I can understand your feelings about you and Wayne cos on duty, I have attended a gay pub for work purposes that I regularly attend off duty. Gary, who is one of my best mates at work said that next time he went to the pub after a disturbance, the manager said "Hiya Gary, thanks for coming..." Then led him into the back office with an arm round his waist to explain what had occurred. Gaz is fine with gay people, I joke with him all the time, but next time I worked with him, he said "I swear Joe thinks I'm gay cos I was out with you the other week." and explained what had happened. Oh and back to the subject? As far as I know, there's no rumours about me because to be frank, I'm such an up front and honest person that if you were to hear summat about me, it's probably true. I always say that one should be up front and honest, then you have no secrets to hide. |

I guess you had to be. I was mates with a guy who decided to tell me (in confidence)... That he only had one testicle. He told me he'd lost the other in a cycling accident. He very quickly told me (the same day) that it wasn't true but he was amazed at how quickly it had spread. It was true, after Chris told me, I mentioned to a friend the next day that I'd heard the story about Chris and people were very quick to offer forwards that Chris only had one testicle. I asked Chris why he had started it and he said it was out of boredom but he had no idea it would take off like that. |

HAHAHA! Footloose! Anyway, I had a rumor spread kinda...BY MY MATH TEACHER, that I was dating my friend Ian. Funny how that one started. He saw us walking in the hallway together and assumed we were dating. He then confronted me about it, and it was heard by another girl, and my english teacher who announced it to my class basically. Oh yeah...and then this week, my math teacher also announced to my class that "I love Ryan" because I had written on my friend Ryan's hand, "I love Abby." So now, there will probably be rumors about that too. |

Me as well! Before I moved to California, I was a little reckless, and hung out with much older people, mostly guys, and also did illegal activities, etc etc etc no need to go on. Peers from school basically saw this as an opportunity to tell people that I was pregnant. Or a crack whore. Or that I was having a crack baby. |

OH, for some reason, this makes me think of a time last year I was telling some people about how a while back a lot of people thought I was a lesbian (grr) and this stupid stupid insensitive girl was like, "Oh yeah, that's what I thought of you the first time I met you!" Ugh. Of course, it genuinely didn't bother me because this girl is not very well-liked at all, so anything she could say about me would pale in comparison to the nasty things said about her (not by me, but they do get said!)

Goodness where do I start with lame rumors. Well when I was a freshman I gave a supposed bj to a friend...at the beach. This resulted in me almost getting the crap beat out of me by this creepy girl who had graduated like 2 years before that at a football game because she was crazy for my friend Tim who of course was a bit scared of her. Also the same former Kevin spread another rumor that he was having sex with Tim. When I heard I about died because I knew it wasn't true...but then after he told me many highly graphic stories I doubted this but tried my best to cover the rumor for my friend. Eventually I told Tim what Kevin had been saying and Tim freaked out and pinned Kevin to a wall(which was rather enjoyable to watch because I already disliked Kevin due to the rumor he spread about me). Also last year I was rumored to have dated my friend Macks and have done a lot of stuff with him none of which are G-rated enough to type. The greatest part is that the rumor spurred from a 7 year old girl asking if we were dating and us saying no and her saying we were just lying and then she told some of the older kids in the cast (which was nice because the creepy kid left me alone) and they told even older kids and by the end we were a VERY VERY happy couple. Actually I was also rumored to have dated Tim over the summer. This ironically was started by the same little girl. This one spread to the whole cast most of which were shocked because he was the director and was 4 years older than I am. Someone actually called a mutual friend of ours and told them who lives in L.A. who called friends in Orlando who called back to Michigan confused because they knew Tim was gay and was living with his boyfriend. It's funny how fast rumors can spread | ||||||

I've had the lesbian rumor too... seems to be a hazard of being really close to someone.
Though mostly people just seemed to think we were pretty interchangable... which sucked an awful lot at the time. My first (and only) professional theater job, everyone thought I was sleeping with the Music Director. Which was true, but only in the most literal sense -- I would often go over to his place and take a nap on his couch during our dinner break.
Of course, it didn't help things much when one night after I had gone out to dinner with some fellow cast members, the aforementioned Music Director burst into the dressing room yelling, "Lisa! Why didn't you come sleep with me during the dinner break?!" Men ...

Another crazy rumor about me (that I just thought of) is that I had a big crush on my gym teacher in 10th grade... My friends believed this so strongly that they would tell me when they saw him in the halls at school, or if he walked by they'd yell "there he is!" or something like that. I have no idea where they got that idea! He's young, but about 4 ft tall and not very cute. Lol. I'm still trying to live that one down. |

A few months ago, there were rumours about me "touching" young boys in school.
I was almost arrested on three seperate occasions. HOWEVER, I was never informed why peopole were after me until I was dihonorably discharged from the public school I had been "working for free" at. I will admit to giving children (ALL children) greeting hugs, or if/when they need comfort hug. I treat all children equally and never judge them. This is probably why I'm not working at the moment... well, one of the reasons, anyway. Andy. |

this isn't really a rumor but...
For like three years one of my theater friends thought my best friend and me were brother and sister because we carpooled to and from the theater. (His dad brought us and my mom picked us up) went to movies, plays, and baseball games togeather, and got along really well. (Oblivisly she was an only child other wise getting along we be a clear sign we were not related). She also didn't notice that we called eachothers's parents Mr. and Mrs. so and so, ask each other where they were last week, arrived and left rehersal at diffrent times with diffrent people, and brought books and such to exchange to rehersal. She only realized we were just friends when we talked about the time we first met. Also another friend and I used to tell weird stories about is "grown up sister" who my brother loved, and was going to have a baby, named vanessa, it could go on for over an hour. Our classmates never believed us but every teacher did. Wierd. |

Hmmm... haven't heard of any extreme rumours about me, but I've had the lesbian one - I'm really close to my best friend, but umm.... well. I guess you can't hug your best friend without being considered lesbian.
And thennnn.... not really a rumour, but everybody seems to think I spend my entire life studying. LOL. Just because I normally get good grades. Oh, and - again, not a rumour, but... - people seem to think good students can't possibly be interested in theatre - I've been starring in our school's musicals and used every opportunity to perform for the last four years and someone still came up to me after last week's Twelfth Night performance and said: "Wow! You can sing. I never knew." Haha. Wish I could share something more spectacular with you - oh wait, actually I don't.

This guy in my English class thought my best friend and I were lesbians last year for a while. We actually thought it was really funny... his whole basis for this theory is that we wrote each other notes sometimes, and apparently you only do that if you're lesbians... we sat across the room from each other (stupid seating charts) and he sat right in front of me, the desks were arranged so half of the room faced the other half, and so she was on the other side and for a couple of weeks, we would always make eyes at each other and act like we were flirting just to mess with him.
He happened to be the only guy in our class. We're convinced it was mostly wishful thinking on his part... but eventually we told him we were just screwing with him. Those were some fun times... |
