Costume HelpI need help thinking of costume for fairies in A Mid-Summer Night's Dream... they all have to be different. Also, I need ideas for Titania's costume And if anyone knows where I can get tutus that aren't like 150 dollars, that would be amazing. Not classic or bell. Well, maybe a bit longer bell going into romantic. kinda like this: http://nebulaskin.deviantart.com/art/Let-the-Music-Rule-31729962 If anything, romantic will work.. Keep in mind it doesn't have to be typical fairie... |

Tutus are basically gathered tulle...just make them!
As for the fairies, why not theme them by color, sort of like Flora, Fauna and Merriweather? |

The fairie court from my AMSND:
I made the costumes. Fairies were sort of color coodinated to fit their character. They were pretty simple to make, sheer fabric over an opaque under dress. Moth -on left- pale pink, with a head piece of feathers and ribbons Cobweb -second left - blue with an underdress to gauze and guaze on her headpiece Punk - kneeling- browns with a feathered headpiece Oberon - royal blue Titania - greens - she had an ivy headpice Peaceblossom - lilac - flowerd headpiece of sweetpeas Mustardseed - on right - yellow - with a mustard flower headpiece. They all had makeup to match their names |

Those look amazing! Yet again, everyone will most likely be in charge of their own costumes since its a student production... so we wont match as awesome as this. |

Another idea may be to have everyone get bodysuits, and then attach long pieces of whatever sheer fabric (in whatever colors). You could use thin strips or larger pieces sewed onto the shoulders and/or neckline. You can make a skirt of them be sewing them onto a piece of elastic.
Your tulle skirts (as Robin said) can easily be made as well if you need more help you can PM me, I've done lots of costuming for our community theatre! |
