So, a long ways away, a youth theatre group in my area is doing Bye Bye Birdie. I was wondering what role I should try out for, and what I should try out with. I'm 16, six feet tall, and I'm a bass-baritone with range from Db2 to Gb4.

What role do you want? Albert is the leading man, not sure his range. Hugo F. Peabody is Kim McAfee's boyfriend(no real singing). Mr. McAfee is Kim's dad, and he sings quite a bit, but I don't know his range. If you want something really fun, there's always Harvey Johnson. He's the quintisential geek and sings with a really squeaky pre-pubescent voice. And then there's Conrad Birdie. He is an Elvis wanna-be, and sings like it. Hope this helps a little.
