Come see my new CATS Site!

http://www.geocities.com/jelliclaw

My new site! Under construction, but there's enough for now. I think something looks strange about the layout...any ideas?

Also, on either side of the 'updates' box, I want two small Cats dolls. Can anyone make some? You will get credit Very Happy

I think the site looks lovely! Applause The only thing is on the main banner, the Turqoise lettering is a bit illegible. I like the pictures you used though! I love the close up of the mouth. The content is useful, the Tail tutorial was cool. Keep it up, and maybe, you might get hosted by a domain!!! Mr. Green Mr. Green

Thanks!

I know the text is hard to read, that's what I was going for - something that you have to pay attention to in order to read Smile

Later today I'll probably sign up for the domain name, so that should be coming very soon. Yay!

Oh, and to anyone else who may read this topic - bookmark my site and sign the guestbook, if you would, please? I want to get this site off to a good start, soon get my link on other sites, and get fairly well-known.

I've sent you an e-mail with why I see myself obsessed for cats, just an other item to add on that list Wink

By the way, are you planning by any chance tu put a Fan Art space?? I'd apreciate it soooo much Mr. Green
Jelliclaw

Fan art space coming later today Very Happy Actually, I'll go make it right now!

I just added a tagboard. Go ahead and post on it!

EDIT: Fan art page up, text color changed. Enjoy!

I never understood why people do that... Advertise as much as possible practically everywhere. There's nothing wrong with it, of course, I just dont understand why.

It's always been my opinion that word of mouth ought to be enough if your site is a good one.

Question

Pardon?
Flitterbug

I said: I dont understand why people have to post links on forums and say "go there". Advertising like that feels too much like selling out.

And lets face it, it makes you look awfully good when everyone who passes through the thread clicks on the link to your site.

Is that just me who thinks it sounds too much like cheating?
Jelliclaw

I just want some visitors and ideas to give the site a good start.
Flitterbug

*sigh*
Jelliclaw

Just saying, I'm not really advertising...I go to 3 CATS boards, and I am showing the people at said forums to see what they think...it's nice to have a little feedback before I add more.

And besides, how else could I get a few starting visitors when the site was just created?
Flitterbug

Patience, for one.
Jelliclaw

Yes, but if I don't show some people, no one would know the site existed. I cannot just wait and hope to recieve a submission or two, I have to show it to some people, get ideas, work work work, and soon advertise with search engines and such.

Can this (unnecessary) discussion end?
Spanish_Rumple

Flitterbug, Jelliclaw is not the only one who has advertised a self made page, as far as I'm concerned I've seen a lot more people doing it. Maybe advertising on three Cats boards is a bit repetitive but not advertising it at all would probably make Jelliclaw wait for ages until someone catches her/his website on Google or an other web search.

On the other hand advertising a nice web site Wink on a forum full of people who really want to check new sites because they are tired of checking always the same ones, is harmless, unlike advertising constantly cars, earning money for free, miraculous diets, new porn sites...etc.

Um...if you go to the effort of putting together a site, why on earth wouldn't you advertise it on a topic-related board? O_o Making fan websites isn't for competition; it's for the enjoyment of the creator of the site, and for fellow fans.

Jelliclaw, your site is very nice. I like the combo of aqua and black. However, it could use a bit more information. Wink

It's inappropriate to spam threads with irrelevant "Go to my site!" posts, but there's nothing wrong with advertising your site in a site-related thread, having the link in your sig file... The internet is a big place, and people won't find your site unless you give them the link!
