College Students: What are you taking in the Fall?

So, We just got done with registration a few weeks ago for Fall term at my college and I was wondering what everyone registered for! Do you have a good term to look forward to? dreading it?

My term is looking to be very nice! I'm a Theatre Arts major, History Minor. I'm completely done with my General Education classes (yay for community college degrees!) Here is what I'm taking:

Theatre - Stage Management
Theatre - Play Directing
Theatre - Theatre History: European Theatre 1875-Current
Theatre - Elements of Acting
History - History of the Civil War

Should be a good term, but a lot of work.
LameUsername

Where do you go?

EDIT: Double post
PappyCat

Eh, I'd rather not splash around the name of my university as it is pretty small. I go to a school in the Pacific Northwest. Why do you ask?
LameUsername

Oh, I just live in the PNW, and I saw you are from Oregon. Just wondering, but I understand not wanting to disclose that. I don't even have my name on here.
Cake_in_Song

I'm doing my theatre major, still only a generalist (f*ck the f*cking acting program....idiots). I'm doing 4 courses to make things less stressful for myself. I'll either be doing an extra year at Uni if I get into acting next year, or I'll be leaving and going somewhere else if I don't, so I don't see the point in taking an elective just for credits, when it'll only give me more homework and stressors to deal with. I haven't registered, but I THINK this is what I'll be taking first semester.

Theatre Production (2nd Year)
Theatre History (2nd year)
Acting for Non-Specialists
Introduction to Costume Design
shakalakababy

since i'm going to be a freshmen we don't get to sign up for our classes till orientation (which is in july for me). I'm excited though, i'll be able to take so many types of classes my high school never offered. Smile
wicked_diva

Costume Patterning
Music Theatre Workshop
Moral and Social Philosophy
Acting III - Improv
Acting V - Shakespeare
Movement II
voice

for a total of only 17 credits.

And I have no classes before 9:30am and none after 3:45.
mastachen

I don't sign up for fall classes til August, but I already have summer classes lined up:

Psychological Research Methods
Physics for Life Science students: light, fluids, thermodynamics, modern physics.
Psychology: Principals of Behavioral neuroscience.
wicked_diva

It seems like you guys all sign up for classes way late. We registered near the end of March, I think.

Same. I think they know that theatre people don't like to wake up early and can't have night classes because of rehearsals.
highkick49

Ballet 1 - although this is my third time taking it; our dance program SUCKS!
Musical Theatre Scene Study
Musical Theatre History
Movement for the Actor
Music Theory
Private Voice

and I'm probably going to try and fit in a Performance or a Crew credit in there depending on what shows I do or do not get cast in next semester.
PappyCat

Okay, Highkick, I totally read "Pirate Voice" instead of "Private" and had a little "THAT'S AWESOME" moment.

I can't speak for others, but I know my school makes some of our classes one credit, regardless of hours spent in class, so we can take all the ones we need to graduate on time.

Junior MT Workshop
Music Literature
University Chorus
Christian Liturgy, Prayer, and Sacrament
Advanced Ballet

I think they're all half-credits. We have a very complicated system. There are 3 study periods, and 6 terms, 2 per study period. It's more of a professional training program than a college.
mizzie

My first year at St Clair (Music Theatre Performance):

Semester 1

Ear Training I

Semester 2
Performance I
Acting II
Dance II (adding tap)
Improvisation II
Voice and Text II
Theatre History II
Vocal Technique II
Vocal Interpretation and Performance II

I SO can't wait.
AllThatJazzHands

Hmmm...what is Voice and Text, mizzie? That sounds interesting.

Same here. I'm double majoring in Creative Writing and Political Science with Law emphasis.. so I have a lot of reading.

What sucks is that other people are not allowed to audition for the shows (that aren't in the program) so I'll have time.... which is what i'm saying now.. but i probably won't.
Tenalto

Honors Humanities I -- Yay for history/literature combos!
Honors Russia -- Russian history with a prof described as a "little girl" and a "T-Rex." Should be interesting.
Social Psychology -- With the lady who decided to give me a lot of scholarship money. Woot.
Our Musical Heritage -- Dumb gen ed., but I'm taking it from the person who taught me that singing was fun!
Organic Chemistry II -- I just started Org. I. Joy.
UNI Singers -- Our general mixed choir (which is still kick-butt).

I'm taking a lot of gen ed's this semester so that I can begin focusing on my major and minor classes sooner. At least I can take most of the gen ed's as Honors credit.

According to the site, it is:

"An introductory course outlining basic vocal skills for acting including rudimentary focusing on breath, articulation, placement, and relaxation. The learner will also examine anatomy for vocal production. Modern and Classical Texts will be utilized to explore the connection between vocalization and text."

It does sound really neat. I'm so pumped.
