Close Every Coat

when we were in rehersal for Joseph, and we're waiting for our director to arrive (of our Joseph, I forget) we were singing the songs in a random order to warm up. Then our musical director asked what song we wanted to sing next. My friend on my left said Close Every Door (lots of yeahs) then my friend on my right said Josephs Coat (yeahs again). Since they were arguning I said Close Every Coat. They both found this hillarous (as did every on else around us) and we spent the rest of the evening coming up with the song. It is sung to Close Every Door and goes something like this:

Close every coat on me
Because I am cold you see
tie on the sash
to shut out the cold
If my life where important I
Would ask will I freeze or dry
But I know the answers lie
Deep in my pocket.
Just give me a jacket
Instead of a coat
Forget all about it
And put it in the wash
The coats of the world
Our never only
for I know I will find
A discant store
of my own.
Bianca.

Embarassed oops Embarassed I mad a mistake or two in the song. It really goes like this:
Close every coat on me
Because I am cold you see
tie on the sash
to shut out the cold
If my life where important I
Would ask will I freeze or dry
But I know the answers lie
Deep in my pocket.
Just give me a jacket
Instead of a coat
Forget all about it
And put it in the washing machier
The coats of the world
Our never alone
for I know I will find
My own fur coat
For I have been promised
A discant store
of my own.
Brr, brr, brr,

LOL. Not gonna lie, my friends and I do juvenile crap like this all the time. Very Happy

In last year's production of Oklahoma, instead of singing "Oklahoma, OK" we'd sing "You're a homo, you're gay." Naturally gay jokes are the stupidest thing ever, but none of us are homophobic... Just immature. Hehe.

Changing songs like that is always fun. At a musical theatre summer camp, me and friend/roommate changed some of the words in "Defying Gravity." It became a song about the squeaky beds we had to sleep in:

Just you and I in our stupid squeaky beds.
They're so old they squeak when we move our heads.
They'll never let us sleep.
And nobody in all the dorms
With their beds so quiet and warm
Is ever gonna bring us down!

And after we wrote it, we rehearsed it and sang it for our other roommate. Yes, changing songs can be very fun.

yes, it is very fun. It intertained us for a week, a holds a memory for us for three years now.

My friends and I do that all the time. I can't think of any in particular though, so I can't post lyrics. We also just start singing for no reason whatsoever and make up songs. We had this really intense song about an orange. We just made it up as we wnet and we were all singing about the orange. Apparently, it was going to fall on us and kill us. That orange, gee...Rolling Eyes

Oh, and I have a terrible habit of singing everything I say, especially when someone else is trying to be serious.
