so i have "cinderella" auditions at the local theatre on the first week of november. I'm a freshman in high school and i was the fairy godmother in my middle's school's "cinderella" R+H.
i'm not much of a singer, but i can get the pitches/tones and once i practice i get better, and i'm an alto/mezzo.
I would love to get a main role like the stepsisters of the stepmother.

Can anyone give me any songs that would suit my vocal range and help me sound better? I have trouble projecting my voice at times.

and my monologue has to be around a minute so any ideas?

please, i really need your help.
I can fit into the stepmother's/portia's/ and maybe joy's vocal range and i'm aiming for one of those roles.
i was thinking of singing "don't rain on my parade"
is it too high of a vocal range for me?

"Maybe This Time" from Cabaret may work for you, seeing as it's in an alto range and is a good "belt" song.
