Cinderella Auditions! I need Help!so im auditioning for Cinderella and we have to sing something from 1940-1960 classical musical theatre repertoire. i was thinking of going Rodgers&Hammerstein-but so many people have suggested to me not to sing that at auditions. it says that songs from the show are acceptable, but i dont know if i wanna do that because the directors will know it so perfectly that if i make one minor mistake, then im in big trouble. im the first one to audition, and since im only 13 and im small, i probably wont get a huge part. but please leave comments and suggestions telling me what i should sing! thanks so incredibly much! oh, and im an alto- i can sing from a G below middle C to around a C above middle C or a C#- hopefully my range will get better as i get older. lol thanks again!

I suggest singing something that your comfortable singing. if that means something from the show go ahead. Chances are they will not judge you entirly on one mistake, if you can over power your strengths over that weakness. More importantly is to relax and enjoy yourself. this is your one chance to play the part you want to- your debeut in cinderella (the audition) If you give it all you got with that attitude, u'll not only have fun but you'll express your true self and love for what you do. Not all casting choices are made from the perfect-ness of a song. Good luck though! i wish u the best!
