Cinderella Audition and Stepsisters Question!

Ok, I'm auditioning for Cinderella soon and I need an audition song. I've got a pretty good voice and I'm mature looking for my age so I could get any role. Are there any songs you could recommend?

And how common is it to have the Stepsisters played by men?

Seeing your previous and upcoming roles, you seem to have a great acting range. If you are a character actor, I would go for the Herald, who sings "The Prince is Having a Ball". He is a great role with quite of bit of comedy if you have the right comedic timing.

As far as songs go, if you are to do songs from the show, I would do either "The Prince is Having a Ball" or "Ten Minutes Ago". If you are to perform a song that is not in the show, anything from Carousel or Oklahoma! would be great, since they are both R&H as well.

I have heard of the stepsisters, and sometimes even the stepmother being played by men for added comedic relief, however, if there are a lot of girls who audition and/or your director is so inclined, those roles will most likely go to the females.

I hope this help! Be sure to let us know what role you get, but I'm gonna say the Herald or the Prince, just cause I like to see if I'm right!
