Christopher Lee Singing Epiphany

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbKbbRxkoC4

Thoughts?

He's a bit flat at "And I'll Never See Johanna..."...just a warning...and random places throughout.
Xack

ooooohhhh....... d'oh! ......that was painful..... and I thought he'd be so good! Crying or Very sad
Brock07

I did too...as soon as it was over I pulled up good ol' Len and listened to that a few times. Made it all better. Very Happy

Not Dead Yet

Oh, how I love him.
Why did he do this to himself?!
Salome

well i adore Lee and to be fair he is 85 years old. he had a wonderful voice at one time.

though his passion in the song is better tan Depp's he is not polised in its delivery. and yes he cant hit the notes he used to.
Mistress

Hehehe...it's wasn't too awful...I could see that he was really good once-upon-a time...but his "Johanna made me laugh a little...

"And I'l never see my JoHaina..." Laughing

Poor Christopher Lee
Little_Nell

Oooh that was a bit of a disappointment...

I think I probably would've forgiven him if it had all been in tune but there's no excuse for flat singing on a recording, especially when he probably had the opportunity to go back and re-record.

Still, I assume this was recorded especially for a compilation album and he's never had chance to play the character and really get a feel for it, or the music. It must be a bit odd singing something like that out of the context of the show. If he'd had chance to play it on stage though, I imagine he could've been quite good.

Does this redeem him though? I like to think so... Very Happy
DontDoSadnessxx

oh dearr Sad
CapeTwirl

Oh.... my. That was bad. Really bad. Neutral It sounded like he could barely even remember the lyrics at points.
krisavalon

I adore Christopher Lee, but that was hard on the ears.
Amy_Vocalist

I thought his acting in it was awful
Nick-Ko-Las Enigma

Hmmm on the whole I liked it but then I was imagining the performance not worrying about the technical bits.

Bit of a rule bender for me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67Jh-jIJaWg&feature=related

From the same album
EponineBarker

Hmm...that was interesting... Confused I give him credit for trying considering it's a hard song to sing, but he seemed really flat at some places. I did kinda like "And my Lucy lies in ashes! And I'll never see my girl again!" But other than that, I was a little dissapointed.
Kiwi

agreed, I love Lee but oy vey, that was just not good...
