Christine who acts

Is there any beside Rachel Barrel who can actually act?
Salome

rebecca luker & patti coenhouer
shakalakababy

sara jean ford
Mistress

Rebecca Caine (apparantly-never actually saw her, although I do have her cast recording)
Paula74

Kris Koop (swing) and Susan Owen (understudy)

Can Marni Raab (the current Christine on Broadway) act? I'm seeing the show again in May and it would be really nice to see a Christine that can actually act, (or sing for that matter). Rebecca Pitcher ruined the show for me.

Indeed. Though, Christine doesn't need to act.

On an unrelated Christine note, why is it a rule that they all have to have that horrendous Sarah Brightman 80s perm?

She can act...but she's far from being a great actress...

not all of them do...I've seen some close up pics, and the hair looks more curly now than permed.

Ana Marina did quite well with the limited material that she got when I saw her.

A combination of pre-Raphaelite ideals (whom ALW love) and Maria Bjørnson's design (which I love.... Wink ). The costume design hasn't changed since the show opened (apart from the non-replica productions and the movie), and the hairdos are a part of the costume design. But everything is adapted and updated to the wearer, the taste of the local costume supervisor and hair dresser etc.

The curls really depends on the productions. In the US they tend to have glossy ringlets, in West End they have looser (and often more natural) curls, in some European productions it's mostly the upper hair that is curled, while the underhair is wavy, in Japan they have some really tight, curls... Even the hair colour varies (although all can be characterized as brunettes): Robyn North wore a considerately paler wig than Leila Benn Harris when they shared the role in West End. Janine Kitzen (Stuttgart) and Patti Cohenour (Canada) looks dark blonde in some photos. The Japanese and Korean Christines wear very dark, almost black, wigs. The list is long.

Few or none have had the "crazy curls" Brightman and the early Christines had. I don't think I've seen them since the early 90's (in Hamburg). The closest thing I've seen is in Australia/The World Tour, but even there they are much more controlled than what Brightman wore.
