Character Shoes..Ok.. So I just (about 20 minutes ago) finished rehearsal for "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" in Hello Dolly.. I was wearing 2 inch heel character shoes. Now the balls of my feet feel like they are going to explode.
Should I put insoles in my character shoes... or what can I do to make my feet get more comfortable?
Thanks!

honestly, character shoes are going to hurt, no matter what you do to them. But origanlly i had bloch, and those killed my feet. Capizoes, are much more comfortable. (for most people)

I put Dr. Scholl's insoles in my character shoes--they worked wonders! Felt sooo much better! I would definitely recommend that. They make the shoes fit a little smaller, though, so if they're already too small for you, it might not work out so well. If I could remember what kind they were I would tell you...they're gel insoles...maybe called something like athletic something something...pretty sure it said something about shock absorption on the package, b/c that's what I was looking for. Anyways, they will definitely help, but your feet might still hurt a little.

There are Ball of Foot gel pads, those might give some relief without taking up too much room. yeah, a Dr. Scholls kind.
If your shoes are leather (if they were expensive!!) you can have them stretched at a shoe repair shop and insert full insoles.

I have moleskin pads in mine. They work really well when you don't have that sock coating or whatever it is Capezio puts in there...

Also.. ALWAYS wear tights underneath your character shoes.
Barefoot hurts.
